We found the hotel staff very unfriendly upon arrival which did not help as we had booked for Valentines. When we left and came back in, we asked reception about breakfast as we had not been told where anywhere was within the hotel earlier. All we got was " did you ask"? Hummm. Bar was not open once during our stay and the breakfast was dreadful!! Watered down juice, rock hard bread buns and not meats or cheeses or anything. Very basic and not very good. I wish i had paid a bit more and stayed somewhere else, as it was not about the money. The hand rail going up the stairs from reception was " gaffa taped" at the top, so do not use this as a hand rail!!! Bedrooms were basic, not totally clean but not dirty either. No bath, just a shower. No tea or coffee making facilities or usual iron and stuff. It felt like we stuck in faulty towers! One channel on the tv. Quite poor really and we have travelled extensively from Africa and everywhere inbetween so I think this review is a true reflection and accurate. Location wasn't bad but I would rather give it a miss. What a let down.

The hotel was clean and the service was good. It was very well situated for the shops and tourist attractions. Although there were no extra facilities it all you could require on a purely bed and breakfast basis.

If you want a basic clean room and a bed to sleep in, in a good location then I'd recommend the Zara. Room was a good size and had a large bathroom, which is unusual for most Italian hotels. We stayed 6-12 June 2007 and found the airconditioning cut of at a certain time of day but management advised this would be changed soon. Buses 40 and 64 which take you to most attractions stop close to the Hotel.

What a fantastic, cheaper find. For a 3 star it's fine, clean and the staff are more than helpful. It's a less than a 10 minute walk to the hotel from Termini Station, and 10 mins to the main attractions ie Spanish steps/Trevi fountain, i would advice to take the bus from the station to the further places like the Vatican, it's no 64 and only costs approx 80p!! there's one every 15 minutes. You can walk back to the hotel in approx 1/2 hr, but it is a very nice walk. Don't expect much choice for breakfast, the italians don't eat much in the morning. The rooms are small, but since you'll be out for most of the day, it shouldn't bother you. No tea making facilities, the air-con wasn't working when i went, but opened the window. Only gripe i had was the TV at night, every station was in italian, couldn't find any english speaking channel, (was after the news) but never mind. Beautiful city, you won't be dissapointed.

The location of this hotel is ideal for exploring Rome. We were able to walk to all the major attractions - Coloseum and Trevi Fountain are quite close. It takes about an hour to walk to the vatican but you hardly notice the distance because there is so much to see on the way! Staff were friendly. The room was small but clean and had ensuite facilities, also clean. Breakfast was disappointing but there are plenty of restaurants nearby so you definitely won't starve.

The bar at the hotel was only open in the mornings for coffee etc. and the rooms were fairly basic with no television for other than Italians. However the location is ideal for all attractions and there are some very good restaurants close by

friendly and helpfull staff, hotel is in a very central location and within easy walking distance of all the major attractions, the room was fine although a little noisey from the traffic, the pharmacy around the corner will sell you ear plugs (very usefull), I for one would have no issue going back

The Zara's location is priceless, the breakfast was good, and the staff very plesant. The only draw backs I can think of, were that the room was very small, and it didn't have a lock box.

our double room was possibly the smallest room in the hotel and right next to the lift with v cramped and poor facilities and poor en suite but clean and serviced every day. the kids triple room was good and had a nice en suite. sadly the two rooms were quite far apart depite a request to be adjacent-breakfast was passable and the reccption staff helpful and friendly
