Description:
Whispering Pines BandB (c.1898) is a heritage-listed retreat on 4 acres at the head of the most spectacular waterfall in the beautiful Blue Mountains. Our home is perched right on the escarpment and we border the National Park with over 600,000 acres of unspoilt wilderness on our doorstep for you to explore. Birds are abundant - rosellas, king parrots, gang-gangs, and on a quiet night (when the pines arent whispering) you can hear the falls tumbling into the valley. Our bedrooms are warm and spacious with feather doonas, electric blankets and luxury appointments. They have views down the peaceful Jamison Valley to Mt Solitary and the valleys beyond - a wondrous outlook especially at sunset. Our guests have use of a large lounge with open fire, sunny breakfast room (tea and coffee available at all times) and barbecue facilities.We also have a choice of self-contained cottage accommodation for couples and family groups up to 6.
Transportation:
Wentworth Falls is 100 kms west of the Sydney GPO, one hours drive (barring traffic hold ups) along the M4 motorway from its start at Strathfield. The M4 becomes the Great Western Highway 32 at the base of the Blue Mountains. On reaching Wentworth Falls village, turn left off the Great Western Highway into Falls Road at the second set of traffic lights in Wentworth Falls.Whispering Pines is at the end of Falls Road, 2km from the highway. Turn left at the Telephone Box at the entrance to the National Park and come down the hill 150 metres straight into the driveway.A regular (usually hourly) train service runs from Sydney Central Country railway station. There is a taxi rank at the Wentworth Falls railway station.
