This is actually my seventh visit this year. I miss the staff when I'm back in the US. The place is really pleasant. Be sure to eat in some of the specialty restaurants especially Ibiza - really good Mediterranean food on the beach.

The Viva Wyndham Playa Dorada was a very mice experience, the rooms were cozy and if u want to relax .. its a good place to visit. The service was good, and the people were very friendly, and the entertainment team was great. I had a good time, and the beach was very close to the resort, which was a 2 thumbs up for me.

Great staff!! The first four times I complained about food at the buffet but there was a marked improvement in Feb. The other restaurants have excellent food and Puert Plata has many nice restaurants. I paln to go back in March.

The food was horrible. The room had mildew & a/c was broken. Service to assist was too slow. They moved me after 7 phone calls. No one gave us any indication of activities in hotel when asked. No music or ambiance at all. The so called disco was an open room with no a/c && a stage. Very disapointed.

I really hate it when people complain about trivial things on holiday. (The pancakes on the buffet aren't fluffy enough...etc.). But when we arrived at this hotel, I was horrified and HAD to complain. Our original resort was closed due to an outbreak of dysentary so we got moved here. (Which Travelocity didn't even tell us about...so check before you travel.) This resort was just awful. It was dirty, small and smelly. The hallway to our room had no working lights, our balcony overlooked worker's quarters and we got a nice view of hanging laundry. The room smelled of mildew and urine and was leaking everywhere. The pool was VERY small and VERY crowded with kids. The hot tub was dirty and crowded as well. There was no information on how to get to the beach and no information on the restaurant times. We were so disappointed that we complained and they moved us to the Wyndham Tangerine, which was a very nice resort.I would suggest that you NOT book the Playa Dorada and I am going to write to the Wyndham corporation and tell them they should NOT have their name on that resort. It may be a nice place for young college kids looking to drink and party, but definitely not nice for families or couples looking for a romantic getaway. Spend your money elsewhere!

The room looked great and was great but the air conditioner didnt work for 4 days and the maintenance staff was slow at responding and never fixed the problem and eventually we were moved to another room and the air didnt work for 1 day there but that was the main problem. The staff for entetainment was great and has a great attitude and arre very friendly.

Viva Wyndham was very nice all inclusive resort, The stay was comfortable, service was excellent and above all the quality of food and drinks were above my expectation, i am very satisfied. Only disappointment was no wifi in the hotel which in my opinion is a must these days, for this reason, i may not stay there again

Room to big for the furniture. Central AC did not work properly for the first 2 nights (we spend the days at the beach) They should have a shuttle from the hotel to the beach, it is a little far. Food was average.

This hotel on Playa Dorata is a great place to go to "chill out" and enjoy the beach without worrying about details like where to go for dinner and how much it's going to cost. All food and drinks -- including hard liquor and fun tropical drinks -- are included in the price. The food is actually quite good and there is an impressive selection of items to choose from. There are two "fancy" restaurants that are included in the "all inclusive" price but you need to make reservations in advance. The hotel DOES NOT educate guests AT ALL about what is/isn't safe to eat or drink. I tried in vain to determine "como hace hielo" but never got a straight answer. I decided to have ice but to stay clear of fruits and veggies that were probably washed with local tap water. The hotel delivers just about everything is promises -- but nothing more. For example, there are absolutely NO amenities in the room; they go so far as to provide a coffee maker without providing coffee or filters! Bring absolutely EVERYTHING that you think you'll need for the trip. The cost for simple items is absolutely prohibitive both inside the hotel and in the immediate area. (Example: travel size bottle of baby oil for USD $7!!) The hotel gym has a good selection of weight machines but the cardio machines are quite limited: 4 bikes, 1 stepper-type thing, and 1 poorly designed elliptical-type machine. The grounds are kept spotless but the swimming pool is filthy. While you can eat and drink all that you want, the hotel is extremely stingy with bath and beach towels and would often run out of the latter. This is extremely frustrating because I booked here in order to enjoy Dorada Beach. The one element of the trip that was a complete disappointment was the airport transfer. I called the hotel 3 times and sent 3 emails in an attempt to make and confirm shuttle reservations from the airport to the hotel. The shuttle never showed up, I had to take an expensive cab, and the hotel nevertheless claimed that the

I can't imagine getting a better value in an all-inclusive place. The dining options were pretty limited (they only seat ~25 people in the specialty restaurants each night) but that was our only complaint. Overall we had a great time.
