Great hotel, very very clean, service was exceptional from breakfast to the front of house staff. location was very good, not right in the centre although Sorrento is very small, so still a very short stroll away. Location also meant it was somewhat quieter. Rooms pleasant and well looked after, would have no problem recommending

Parking is almost non existant! I asked for the parking garage and was told to park on the street across from the hotel. The street is on an incline and the cars are parked bumper to bumper which makes exiting without hitting another vehicle almost impossible. I asked about tours and was given a brochure from Global. I was told to pick what we wanted and they would call and also that it was "cash only". Instead I walked 1/2 block down the main street and found a travel agent who arranged all of our tours at the same cost as the brochure that was given to us from the hotel and I could also use my debit card for payment.

This was our second stay at this hotel. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is excellent, breakfast staff very professional and nice. Room was very clean. Able to walk to everything but watch out for crazy drivers...yikes!!! View from our room was breathtaking. Will stay here again.

Very enjoyable stay. Breakfast Staff were very nice and enjoyable. Dinner at the hotel was great. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone. The hotel was conveniently located near the main street, with plenty of shops and restaurants. We had a deluxe double with a huge balcony that overlooked the Sea. Room was clean and spacious. Hotel staff was polite, kind and helpful.

I wasn't too impressed with this hotel. The rooms were plain and the countertop in our room was falling apart. For what we paid for the hotel, it was not reflected in the hotel's amenities or surroundings. The hotel is a lot older than most, and at times, we thought the elevator would break down! The location was okay - but it was a good walk to the main part of town. The staff were not that friendly and didn't make us feel very welcome. I would not stay there again.

I knew that this was a dependance of the hotel Villa Maria and shared the same reception. However, I was hoping that it would be more tastefully furnished or more modern than its sister. From the description and photos I knew it would not be my favorite hotel but I liked the fact that it was near the main center. When we arrived to stay 7 days we were led into a room that was too small to merit the price of 164 Euros a night, you got a look at the Vesuv and the sea but only beyond the roofs of neighboring hotels and parking lots and - it was directly facing the main road out of town! For additional Euros 21 we could get more space, a terrace and - the same noise. We did this for 2 nights until we could not take it anymore and were ready to leave! There was no negotiating with the staff however and they offered us a replacement room at the Villa Maria on the fifth floor. It´s the only floor where you get a look at the Vesuv and the sea but again only beyond the roofs of neighboring hotels and parking lots. We did not use the swimmingpool facilities because behind it are appartment buildings and it generally did not have an inviting athmosphere. When we entered the breakfast room shortly before 10 an unfriendly head waiter looked at his watch to let us know we had 5 more minutes to eat whatever was left of the buffet which did not look inviting anyhow. From then on we only ate breakfast at diverse coffeeshops. Positive is the location, quite near to everything in town. Suggestion: rent a scooter - lots of fun - and book at the Hotel Regina which is also a 3 star but in a lovely street near the sea and center of town. I checked it out personally and they have a lovely garden and better rates than Villa Maria.

Our room was quite lovely. We needed a triple with bath, and we paid the extra 10 euro for a sea view. We had a great room with two large windows and a spectacular view. The breakfast was delicious and offered many options. We were very pleased with our stay at the Hotel Villa Maria.

Nice hotel for a short break - pool area a little small if staying for a longer time I would think. Unfortunately the jaccuzzi is out of repair on the roof - and not in a great position, right by all the aircon units. However I had a nice stay, it's well positioned for going into town in the evening and lots of little shops close by.

This hotel exceeded every expectation. To do any better you would have to spend twice as much.(We did only the day before) The hotel restaurant directly across the street had reliably decent food, friendly service and a WORLD CLASS VIEW.

If very light sleeper, could hear people in next room using toilet, not just when flushing. So sound insulation leaves something to be desired, although this might be because we were in an end of corridor room. Our "Mountain view" was mainly a view of opposite flats, with impressive cliffs above when specifically looking up. Swim pool very good. There is a very pleasant roof sun lounge, with stunning view over Bay of Naples and Vesuvius but the "jacuzzi" advertised was open to the sky and had leaves, etc. floating, so we did not bother to ask if it was operational. Apart from these niggles, we were very satisfied with Hotel and helpful, friendly staff. Sorrento was wonderful and hotel very close to shops and resteraunts

Hotel was easy to locate from written directions, and employees were helpful and polite from check-in to meals to providing travel information to check-out. Nicest bathroom of our journey!

The hotel is expensive compared to what it offers.Location is great, rooms are clean but very noisy. There is a big gap between different rooms (we were moved during the week and therefore were exposed to completely different levels of rooms). Breakfast is nice.On the whole i would recommend it if it was a little cheaper.

The staff was not at all welcoming, helpful or flexible during my stay. However, my biggest complaint was the noise in the room. The noise level was so high we slept only a few hours a night. This made us so tired during the day we could not enjoy our vacation.

Very nice hotel. A little away from the center of things, but still close enough to walk. Parking could be better. All in all, good value. We'd go back again.

The hotel is in a good location for the beach, eating out and shopping. The hotel was good and as expected. The staff were generally helpful or though on occassion a little abrupt! The room we had was very cramped and small for the price we paid. There was just enough room to walk around the beds and the bunk beds were very small which our children found awkward! The walls between rooms are very thin so when we had noisy neighbours it was very disruptive. Fortunately once we complained the staff were very quick to deal with the problem and all was quiet within 5 minutes. The pool was a great bonus and very little lounger hogging with towels which was refreshing. The public areas such as the lounge and dining area were very nice and large. The hotel was very clean and well maintained. Overall I thought this hotel was good, the only real disappointment was the was the size of the room.
