| Villa Il Pozzo is located half way between the medieval walls of Monteriggioni and the wonderful city of Siena (10 mins distance from each other). It is a large hunting lodge of the 15th century, to which a Chapel in the 18th century and other out-buildings in the 19th century have been annexed. Vines and olive trees, cypresses, firs, plants, ilexes are around the property for about 14 hectares. It is a place of peace and meditation, rich of colours and strong feelings. There are three cottages: Girasole (2+2), Grappolo (2+2) and Villetta (7+2). Villetta has large, private external areas, with a big, covered veranda where you can always dine outside. The swimming pool is beside the small ducks lake and a gazebo, shered by Il Grappolo and Il Girasole, covers small tables and chairs for pleasant breakfasts in the shadow. A small jogging path runs through the large property enjoying the scents of nature. |

HOW TO REACH VILLA IL POZZO BY CAR FROM FLORENCE AIRPORT:Turn right on leaving the airport and follow the green motorway signs up the road. Enter the motorway at FIRENZE NORD following the direction ROMA. Exit at FIRENZE CERTOSA and take the SuperstradaRaccordo FIRENZE SIENA (motorway link road) immediately to the right of the motorway exit, direction SIENA. Drive along (56 Km) this road as far as the exit MONTERIGGIONI.Then turn right at the stop sign (you will see along the road on your left the Monteriggioni Castle and on your right the Bar dellOrso - a wonderful place to eatanddrink) and go straight on about 7 kms in a wood road.Then turn left when you see a blue light sign DUETI (Via delle Nazioni Unite).100 mts and then turn left near the dustbins.Enter the road lined with cypress trees ahead of you. This is the private road leading to Villa Il Pozzo. Turn left when you see the gate with two lions (n.11) and reach your cottage.HOW TO REACH VILLA IL POZZO BY CAR FROM PISA AIRPORT:Leave the exit from the car park at the airport turning right following the sign for STRADA DI GRANDE COMUNICAZIONE FI-PI-LI (without payment) and exit SIGNA where you reach the motorway A1. Join the Autostrada in the direction ROMA and leave it shortly afterwards at the exit FIRENZE CERTOSA. Take the SuperstradaRaccordo FIRENZE SIENA (motorway link road) immediately to the right of the motorway exit. Drive along (50 Km) this road as far as the exit MONTERIGGIONI.Then turn right at the stop sign (you will see along the road on your left the Monteriggioni Castle lighted and on your right the Bar dellOrso - a wonderful place to eatanddrink -that is always open from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m.!) and go straight on about 7 kms in a wood road.Then turn left when you see a blue light sign DUETI (Via delle Nazioni Unite).100 mts and then turn left near the dustbins, go on for 200 mts and enter the long road lined with cypress trees ahead of you. This is the private road leading to Villa Il Pozzo. Turn left when you see the gate with two lions and reach your cottage.HOW TO REACH VILLA IL POZZO BY CAR FROM ROME AIRPORT:Motorway A1 in direction of MILANO and FIRENZE. Exit VALDICHIANA and follow indications for Siena (on your right). Link road BETTOLLE- SIENA, drive along (about 50 Km) this road as you arrive near Siena. You dont have to follow indication for the center, but continue in direction of FIRENZE (on the right) and exit at SIENA NORD. Then go straight on about 800 mt., after turn right at the stop before the roundabout, skirting the Banca di Credito Cooperativo di Monteriggioni. Go for 2 Km. and turn right at the sign SAN MARTINO. Enter this road and carry on straight (Via del Pozzo, not Via della Repubblica) for 800 mt. and enter the road lined with cypress trees ahead of you. This is the private road leading to Villa Il Pozzo. Turn left when you will see the gate with two lions (n.11) and you will come to your cottage where you will be welcomed by Mrs Annamaria Corsini (Villa Il Pozzo owner!) who lives in the large villa behind yours.
