The staff at Hotel University were very friendly & helpful, the lady who looked after us at breakfast was always cheerful and eager to please. The rooms were very clean and spacious and the location for us was perfect as my son was starting his year at Bologna University so it was very convenient, walking distance from the University and the main shopping area, lots of restaurants closeby. I am happy to recommend this hotel & would use it again.

Very enjoyable hotel; relatively close to restaurants and shops. We walked from the train station although it was about 1 km; a nice walk through covered archways; it was noisy at night but turning on the air conditioner drowned out this noise.

Good location in the heart of the city but a bit difficult to find. Nice room (double single use) and bathroom but old moquette. A lot of noise from other rooms (and bathrooms) for all the night. The price/quality relationship is very good, only 40€ for a night. Very good breakfast!!!

El hotel es estupendo, rodeado de restaurantes y bares, pubs... a dos minutos andando del centro histórico de Bolonia. El recibimiento fue muy bueno y la habitación estupenda. No se puede pedir mas por el precio. Tiene una calidad muy buena.

Good hotel in a very central location within easy walking distance of the sights and not too far to walk (with bags) from the train station (if you don't take a wrong turn or get on the wrong street from the station - ask someone to point you to Via Dell Inipendienza as it's not obvious which one it is). Staff were hepful and the breakfast was good - plenty of choices. Very clean room - I reserved a single and got a much bigger room than the typical single, with a good bathroom. There was a safe in the room, which may not be strictly needed in Bologna (I never felt anything other than safe in this part of Italy and I'm not aware that pickpockets are an issue), but it was nice to have. The neighborhood is busy and a bit noisy, so earplugs are a good idea. Bologna is a dignified and gracious city with lots to see and deservedly famous food (had the best gelato of my trip in a little place around the corner from the University and there are plenty of good restaurants nearby). It's well worth staying there a few days. There's a very good walking tour of the city, reasonably priced - check at the tourist office. A day trip to Ravenna to see the Byzantine mosaics is a must. I would definitely stay at the University again - the price is quite reasonable for a what you get and the location is excellent.

Unfortunatley very disturbing noice all evening and during the night, both from the street and in the house. A very strong smell of cleaning liquid in the room, I am allergy sufferer and had some problem with this.

The breakfast could have been better. Not too much variety, no rolls left, tables were not cleaned.

A neat and tidy hotel. The rooms differ, but all appear to be of a good size. The only detracting element was that the air-conditioning is turned off at 11pm, which can be challenging in a city that often reaches the high 30s in summer. Overall though we were very pleased.

We were just staying in Bologna for 24 hours and it was pouring the whole time. The hotel is on the edge of the area restricted for cars, so the taxi ride had to wend around to arrive at the approach to the hotel. The public areas of the hotel are small but clean and the staff is very helpful.

This adress is really excellent, very well situated. Good service, very nice and clean room. The only thing is the noise down the street because of a pub. It was impossible to keep the window open.

We only stayed here one night on the way from Lucca to Venice. Nice hotel, good location, nothing out of the ordinary.

Hotel is located in the center, on a very quiet street, so the stay was very good. The only problem was to get to the hotel. Our GPS navigator was occasionally broken and we had to ask people on the streets. But the only way was to follow street signs on all these one-way streets. Hotel was very good for it's price. We enjoied the stay.

Hotel has excellent location, being 10 min walk from main bus station and 10 min walk to Piazza Marriore and the main shopping area. Room was clean and ok size. Night time is pretty lively and noisy as there are bars and restaurants near by.All in all good value for money.

This turned out to be an excellent hotel. We were unsure what to expect but were welcomed warmly on arrival. Our room was large with a very comfortable king sized bed. The facilities were clean and more than adequate. Breakfast was well thought out and very good, many choices. Close to the rail station, an inexpensive cab ride. Easy walking distance to the Piazza Maggiore. Welcoming of Americans. All front desk staff we encountered spoke many languages and were helpful. Would stay here again.
