| This is not a bad hotel for the money but we had an awful experience with a broken vase. My son was walking through the lobby and accidentally bumped a vase which fell over and broke. The broken vase was replaced within 10 minutes, but we were told this was a rare vase on loan from a dealer in town and the cost of the vase, for which we would have to pay, was 1300 Egyptian Pounds (approximately 235.00). They said they would reduce the cost to 650 EP because the rare flowers (which were artifical) were not damaged. I told them that it was an accident and I thought the hotel insurance should pay for it. Everytime we walked by the reception desk the bill for the vase was waved at us and we were told that it must be paid for immediately. I finally looked up the manager and he told me that it was my problem and not his and I would have to pay full price for the vase. I told him I was not going to pay anything. The next day I spoke to him again and told him I was tired of being harrassed by the hotel staff and I wanted it to stop. He did agree to this and it was no longer mentioned until we left. I looked at several vases in town and could find nothing similar to the broken vase, but did find other more elaborate vases for much less money than they were claiming it cost. Incidentally a man broke the vase again the next day and they pulled another one out of the closet . At the time of check-out we were harrassed, threatened and bullied about paying for the vase. I would never recommend this hotel. |
