The hotel was located 2 minutes from the cathedral and in the heart of the shopping district. There were numerous restaurants and cafes nearby. The hotel was amazingly clean and well maintained. Good value for the money.

Ideal situation in the centre of the old town. Very high standards throughout. Reception staff most helpful.

A very nice place in a good location. The front desk staff seemed a little "snooty" but helpful. There was construction in Stephan's Platz (jack-hammers and backhoe)which was very loud in our room during the day-time but quiet at night.

Excellent, "old age feeling", but all facilities e.g. bathrooms renovated to excellent form. Quiet, excellent location.

Great location. Very central, near underground station, but slightly off main drag, so milling throngs of tourists not too noisy. Bells from cathedral nearby go off every 15 minutes, though not at night. Hotel staff very kind and courteous, and even the night staff spoke English well.

This hotel offers an excellent location within Vienna. You can reach any part of the city using the U-bahn, which is basically "around the corner" from the hotel. The staff were helpful, for the most part, but ... . I'm not sure if the fact that I was a single female traveling alone affected the information that I received with respect to travel and attractions, but I was not very impressed with the staff's helpfulness in that regard. Shortly after arrival, I asked directions to a particular venue. I was told "It's not near here." When pressed, I was told that it was a 20-minute taxi ride (taxis are relatively expensive in Vienna). When I specifically asked about the U-bahn, I FINALLY got directions for how to get to the venue using the U-bahn (it was quite simple--a couple of stops). The staff DID come up with the information eventually, but I had to be fairly insistent about getting it. Other than this issue, the facility itself is beautiful and all other forms of service were quite good.

Our main concern was location... this is about as central as you can get. We walked everywhere except for Schonbrunn and Grinzig. As for the interiors, to be honest, based on their own website (not Venere) and the price, I was expecting something more luxurious. Our room, 303, could use some redecorating or at least a freshening up. The main public area was not very appealing. The breakfast spread was pretty good, though for some reason they had either eggs or sausage/bacon everyday but never both the same day. Service from the desk and breakfast room was very friendly and helpful. We used the hotel's airport pick-up service which is a bit expensive (50 euros with tip) but worry-free.

Two centuries ago the building was a traditional viennese palais converted, 150 years ago to a hotel. The location is excellent close to St Stephen's and the main shopping areas. Breakfast was excellent. I am not giving the highest marks to this hotel for the following reasons: 1) The hotel is not equipped with single beds. Although the mattresses are separeted, if you are travelling with a business associate and staying in the same room you must share the bed. 2) We have asked a very short extension on our stay (we would like to leave at one o'clock in the afternoon instead of 12) and the guy at the reception said that was impossible, because the room “was sold”. Eventually we paid extra 90 Euros(!!!) to stay until 4 o'clock and there was no problem anymore. His attitude was apalling.

Hello , all I can say is that everything was as expected: a lot of hospitality, quietness, very good service. The rooms were clean ans spacious (not too much, but enough for two adults and two children!). And the location is perfect, just a few meters from Stephansdom and in the middle of Graben and Kaerntner strasse. I don´t know when we will return to Wien, but at that moment, we´ll check for Kaiserin Elisabeth first.

Oh my gosh--what a gem of a place, nestled on a small street off the Kartnerstrasse. There are not enough awesome words for the staff-all were superb, kind, and very helpful. Outstanding location, easy walk to "The Ring", museums, restaurants, and shopping. The other guests were pleasant, from around the world. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. Beautiful salon on the erdgeschoss. My single room was fabulous-view over the quaint street (quiet too) lovely large bath/shower, separate WC and bidet!!!

The beds are SO comfortable! I would have preferred a room with a better view. The location of the hotel is perfect- easy walk to everything. Very nice breakfast buffet. The staff was so welcoming and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

Hotel extremely good - the only annoyance was the bathroom soap being in a dispenser - not what one would expect in a 4 star hotel.

Location was perfect, 2 minutes from the underground system which can take you just about anywhere in Vienna or connect you to the other transport networks. Restuarant recommendations were superb and a visit to Immervoll is a must for Austrian cuisine at its tastiest and friendliest. Probably the one of the best hotel experiences we have ever had.
