I begin by stating that the hotel appeared rather older than I expected. Nevertheless, I was quite satisfied with the friendliness of the maids and most of the front desk staff. The room itself, although comfortable, lacked adequate ventilation. It had windows that could be opened but no screens. It was cooled by a window air conditioning unit that was much too small for the size room it was situated in. In addition to this, the windows were covered by heavy drapes in such a way that if the drapes were left in place to block outside light, the a/c unit could not cool the room. If the drapes were pulled apart to allow the a/c unit to cool the room, the room was drenched in light which interfered with sleeping. The main problem I had with the Quality Inn had to do with the last day of my stay and the fact that although my flight wasn't scheduled to depart until 8pm that night, I was expected to check out of the hotel by 11am that morning. This nine hour difference caught me quite by surprise because nowhere in my travel documents was this fact noted and I was ill-prepared to leave at such an early hour. Furthermore, when I tried to explain my situation to the front desk manager, he was incredibly rude and unyielding in stating that I would have to either pay $126 for staying past the check out time or leave the room. Having already toured the city and spent hundreds of dollars during my visit, I had nowhere else to go. I therefore forked over the additional $126 dollars for staying an additional 4 hours (I checked out at 3pm). I feel that I was ripped off by the hotel's manuever and they took advantage of a situation that was not of my making. As a result, I was very dissatified with what happened and made this point clear before I left.

Staff was good and the price was good. You get what you pay for with this motel. The motel is old and in an older part of town. If you are just looking for a cheap place to stay then this is your place. 10 minutes to the airport and about 15 to 20 minutes to get downtown. If you have kids this isn't the place for you. No pool and no activities within walking distance not that you would want to be walking around outside with your kids. To sum it up if alls your looking for is a cheap place to stay and don't care about any of the extra's this place is for you. If you enjoy a new motel, a good location and have kids this place isn't for you.

Since the first day that I arrived, the fromt office made sure that i had everything that I needed. I Have gone the 5 star hotels before, and the front office was not as friendly or helpful as the Quality Inn. The room was big enough for all of my luggage and it had everything that i need for my day. The room service was respectfull when I needed something and when I needed my time without someone bothering me. Overall, I was satisfied with my stay there and I hope that I get to visit Vancouver again.

Hotel situated above a noisy bar with questionable people around. Staff were extremely rude and unhelpful. Were unable to give directions for Vancouver and had little knowledge of local attractions or transport. Room was double booked - was given a key to a room that was already occupied. After finally waiting and getting a room it stunk of cigarettes. The shower ran hot then cold. Most disappointing. I would never stay here again.
