Location Description:
Kalambaka is famous in Greece for its religious heritage and importance to the Greek Orthodox Church. The monasteries are built on the top of the Metéora rocks, which is located close to the tranquil town of Kalambaka. Nobody knows for sure when Metéora was established, but it is believe that hermit monks first settled on the rocks around the 11th century AD.
The Adrachti Hotel is only 1 km away from the town. The town of Kalambaka is built at the base of the rocks of Metéora from the left side of the Pinios river. It is a beautiful setting, just at the point where the river enters the Thessalian valley.
