We were on a budget and chose the Principe because it was affordable for Rome. You get what you pay for. The breakfast was easily the worst of the 4 hotels we were at in Italy. The entry was unique, with a fair amount of stairs, not lift and buzzing from outside to be let in. There was however a fantastic gelato store and a grocer across the street which were nice. Would I stay there again? Probably not.

More variety could be provided at breakfast fro those staying 3 or more days. Change the menu from day to day. Eg Provide toast and different cereal inclusin musesli as options as well as some fresh fruit. The rooms on the street side are refurbished but are smaller and noisy if you want to have the window opened. The rooms on the inner garden side are older but are quiet Much better signage is needed for people trying to find the hotel for the first time in this street. a clear sign with the hotel name is needed. It is quite difficult to find. The hotel location is very good for access to trams, buses , supermarkets and you can walk to the sites like the colosseum in 20 minutes.

We were very satisfied with our stay and will for sure recommend the hotel to friends. It was a plus that they had 3 bed rooms - and we were recommended the hotel

Very friendly proprietors, who were only staff except maid. Very helpful to the extent of our common language deficiencies. A larger breakfast may have been better for the price.

The staff at the hotel were so helpful to us. They answered questions for us via email before we arrived. We had to get a taxi to the airport at 5:45 a.m. and one of them was up waiting for us to make sure a taxi arrived, which they had arranged the night before. We easily walked from the Termini station to the hotel, carrying our luggage (but we pack light). Our room was fine for our purposes, clean & airconditioned. The bed was like a rock, but that is typical in Europe. And it is true that the best Gelato is across the street.

We were very happy with this hotel and would return without hesitation! The owners were very helpful and gave us very good information on where to eat and how to get around Rome. We felt very safe in the area and in fact enjoyed the many cultural differences. We walked around the area without any problems both day and night. Like any big city anywhere in the world, in Rome no matter where you are you must stay aware and be careful. The breakfast was perfect for us with cold meat, cheese, hard boiled eggs, rolls and sweet buns etc. and as much really good coffee as you wished for. We were also treated to a nice cold beer on our arrival after a long travel day. The place was spotlessly clean and we would definitely recommend this small friendly hotel.

Very clean, simple but nice rooms, very friendly owners, good breakfast, hotel close to the center of Rome and to the train station. Quiet neighbourhood, even if in a discrict with many asian immigrants. A very nice place to stay in Rome at a very low price. We hope we can return soon...

If you plan to stay for more that 2- 3 days then this place is ideal.. a bit away from the centre of rome. you need to take a bus of train to get to the centre.. but otherwise a very very nice place..

The owner was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is right beside a tram and bus stop, there is a grocery store and a gelato store right across the street. All attractions are a little way from the hotel but the walks to Termini and the Colosseum are both 15 minutes or less. The room was big enough to unload our packs and still have room to move around. The air conditioning was quiet and we rarely heard noise from the street. The bed was comfortable and the sheets and towels were clean. CNN in English was available on the TV. There was someone on duty 24 hours a day so the building was very secure. Breakfast was a basket of two croissants, two buns, and two packages of "toast" there was also boiled eggs, cheese, sliced meat, red fruit punch, coffee, tea, corn flakes, jam, pate, and nutella from the common table. We always had enough to eat for breakfast.

Was such a lovely stay. They were extremly helpfull and welcoming. I stayed the first time for 4 days and the second when I went back to Rome for one night with my parents. The rooms were clean and beds comfortable and very quiet. The aircon was a life saver as we were there in summer. The sheets were crisp and fresh..unlike others I have stayed in. The bathroom and toilet so clean and the shower had lots of water power. Breakfast was just perfect. Coffee, tea, juice, bread with jams and nutella (of course). Sliced cheese and salami. Biscuits and small Italian cakes. Had such a lovely stay there. Quite close to the metro and walking distance to the sites of Rome. Huge gelataria across the road and supermarket on the corner...very convinient. My parents have travelled a lot and even they were impressed. I hope to stay there again when back in Rome. Grazie mille:)

The Principe Eugenio occupies the 1st floor of a building on a large avenue, conveniently situated relative to the station, the center, and the San Lorenzo district (nice restaurants there, ask the hotel staff!). Our room was clean, comfortable, but noisy; fortunately we could change for a quieter room on the court side. The service was OK.

Great hotel! I wasn't expecting so much due to the price and my previous experiences with hotels in Rome. But it was a very pleasant surprise. It's very clean, the staff is extremely helpful and nice. It completely worth what it costs and more. The neighbourhood may seem a bit frightening at first look, but it's very quiet and safe, even at night. I definitively recommend it!

This was the first time on this hotel, and we chose it because of good reputation. Hotel was in very good location: next to bus and trolley stops and only 200meters from metro. With this kind of connections it is easy to go anywhere in rome. Breakfast was very simple, but ok if we think that this is two star hotel. Generally very good hotel for two star hotel.

Cet hôtel correspond tout a fait à la description. Les plus:-la vue sur la cour intérieure vaut le coup d'œil. -chambre propre et personnel accueillant. Les moins: -les environs de l'hôtel manquent un peu de charme

I always read the reviews on Venere before booking a hotel; and all I can say is that this was an excellent choice for our visit to Rome and I am very pleased to have made this choice. Welcoming and helpful service; clean, quiet rooms with good facilities; Conveniently close to the Metro although was also happy to walk to and from the City centre. The sound-proofed windows really work well. We were at the front of the hotel overlooking the main street, not that you would have noticed unless you had the window open.
