Great stay at this budget, yet very very clean hotel in Osaka. Highly recommended for business travelers and anyone looking to have a clean room to stay in for the night. The facilities were average, but if you don't plan to be spending your day in your room, this is for you. Be warned though, the hotel is in the middle of the local 'love hotel' area. However in saying that, I had no concerns about my safety whats so ever, just some people might find it off putting, or people with kids. The location was super convenient, 1 min walk to 7/11 and 5 min walk to Ju So Station ( 2 stops from central Osaka stations and Umeda), with plenty of cheap restaurants within walking distance. The staffs english was OK, and there was free internet access in the lobby. One complaint was I could hear kids jumping around on the floor above.

Plaza Hotel is close to a station- but it is not JR-It has good facilities and we found it to be a good price on special ( about 8800 yen for a twin)

Nice and clean hotel with reasonably large rooms (for Japanese standards). Bit old fashioned building and furniture. Rooms are well equipped and serviced daily. Staff is very friendly and mostly could use some English. Free internet connection available in entry lobby. We did not use restaurants because we were out for most of the day, but they seem to be reasonably priced (buffet breakfast $10). Location is convenient - 5min walk to railway (not JR though) and safe although there are quite few (decent) love-hotels in the area as well as pubs/bars. Guests were mostly locals - families as well as couples and business people and groups. We (me and wife and two teenagers) enjoyed our stay in this hotel and would recommend it to others.

Hotel is close to the station and am greatful that they have its business card at the Juso station - very convenient. It's OK if you walk the 'main' way as indicated on the back of the business card, but if you walk the short way - it's a bit seedy. Be careful if you're travelling by yourself.

Nice clean hotel. Staff were friendly. Situated on the Northern side of the river oposite side to Osaka Central Station. The hotel was a little difficult to find as it located down a side street off the main road. We enjoyed our stay.

Stay here if you want a truly authentic japanese experience where you will be immersed in the culture. No other westerners in sight which was ok for us. Train and city further away than we would have liked as hotel is on north side of city and one train stop from Umeda (Osaka Station). Very polite staff, just remember "sorry yes" means "no".

The plaza hotel is located half way between Shin-Osaka and Osaka Station. Both are about a 30 min walk so a taxi (about 1000 yen)from Shin-Osaka would be a good idea if you have heavy luggage. Juso station is about 5 mins away for a quick train trip to Umeda(Osaka) station. Hotel room was clean with 90s style laminate furniture, room was quite spacious, bed very comfortable and big by Japanese standards. Area surrounding hotel was a little seedy (not meaning unsafe, meaning quite a few love hotels and like establishments are located nearby). Covered malls are located nearby and hotel had power transformers for charging my mobile.

Hotel was very difficult to find using the map from the website....and the different hotel name displayed on the building! Room was pretty bog standard and could probably be cheaper than 50. Personally, I'd recommend anyone to stay in Kyoto over Osaka.
