Playa Nicuesa Rainforest Lodge Puntarenas
Playa Nicuesa Rainforest Lodge Puntarenas [edit info]
Peninsula De Osa Golfo Dulce
Puntarenas, Costa Rica
Description:Playa Nicuesa Rainforest Lodge is an adventure-nature lodge on a 165-acre private preserve surrounded by tropical rainforest, a national park, and the Golfo Dulce. Access to the lodge is by boat only--there are no roads. Guests enjoy both land and water based activities literally right out of their door: rainforest hikes, wildlife viewing, birding, kayaking, windsurfing, snorkeling, sailing, fishing, horseback riding, and hammock swinging. Onsite amenities include a restaurant and bar, watersports equipment, and laundry service. Playa Nicuesa's location is in the least populated region of Costa Rica. Natural energy from the sun is harnessed to provide electricity. Cabins are uniquely designed to create a seamless transition between indoors and outdoors. The best way to get to Playa Nicuesa Rainforest Lodge is to fly via Sansa Airlines or Nature Air to either Puerto Jimenez or Golfito. Flight time is approximately 50 minutes. From there, a hotel representative will meet you at the airport and transport you by boat across the Golfo Dulce to Playa Nicuesa Rainforest Lodge (the boat ride is approximately 20 minutes). You may also drive to Golfito (the most secure place to leave your parked car is at the Samoa del Sur Hotel). The drive time is approximately seven hours. The road between San Jose and Golfito is well maintained. Guests should try to arrive in Golfito no later than 1pm.
