Pink Sands is a 20-acre designer retreat on the famous rosy beaches of Harbour Island (Bahamas). The island, known to locals as Briland, is a tiny oceanic punctuation mark dotting the 110 mile stretch of Eluethera Island. Its diminutive size affords the Pink Sands hotel seclusion from the bustle of larger islands. The resort's art deco stylings were conceived by the glamorous aesthetic mind of Barbara Hulanicki, founder of the avant-garde Biba fashion line, which influenced rock 'n' rollers such as Mick Jagger and Steven Tyler. Hulanicki brushed her sinuous flair into each room, cottage and bungalow of the Pink Sands.
