We were very disapointed! This was suposed to be a neat hotel an old monastary. The front desk is the same picture but they have a picture of were you eat breakfast. You don't eat there they send you across the street. We booked this hotel just for the look of the hotel and it was a complete disapointment! Also I notice the soaps and shampoos they gave us were from BEST WESTERN! ?

This hotel is really simple, the room we had looked worn, the furniture at best selected by "chance or availability", the carpet cheap and also worn out. The shower in the bathroom is a little "adventure", it worked but the whole room was flooded, no other person can use the room during showers, and we were happy that the water stayed inside the room. The breakfeast is offered in an opposite bar per voucher - well, one cup of coffee included, but we could buy more. Parking available on street outside the city wall, about 5 minutes walk, unloading at hotel possible and easy. All in all the people were friendly and helpful, the hotel good for simple overnight stay - I am not sure, if the value was good for 90€, but Siena probably is an expensive place. Ulf Zell

The hotel is next to a main road into the town and at the terminus of many local buses so it is noisy. The bathroom in our room was a plastic capsule and not very convenient. In a twin room only one bedside table and one chair were provided. Breakfast was at a cafe across the piazza: the service at the cafe was very poor, with sullen staff never seen to smile, yogurt was provided on the menu but had to be requested every morning. The "fruit juice" was revolting, apparently made up from powder. The single room for our companion was more spacious but the high single premium seemed unreasonable (83% of the twin rate). That was not made clear on booking - we were only quoted a rate for both rooms. The hotel was further from the main sights in Siena than implied by the web-site, but the walk was pleasant enough. The immediate surroundings were noisy, but access to the glories of Siena made up for that.

We had an enjoyable stay, hotel was centrally located, staff were friendly and helpful.

The website's description says 'just a stone's throw from the Campo'. I paced it out and it was just under 700 meters - a long throw! The main electric light switch in the bathroom was INSIDE, in a damp area and only worked very intermittently - it was probably dangerous. So was the main light in the bedroom, because the fixing screws had pulled out of the ceiling and it was hanging only on two thin wires. I was astonished that the shower head in the bathroom sprayed water over the WC and everywhere else. It was almost impossible to take a shower without sitting on the WC! Photos available on request. The breakfast arrangement was by means of a voucher to a nearby cafe, so the range and volume of the breakfast was very limited (e.g. no fruit). Much of the hotel's furnishings looked 'tired' and carpets, etc. could do with being replaced. However, the bed was comfortable and as we had asked for a room away from the busy main road, we slept well. Sheets and towels were changed daily. Good restaurant (Osteria Titti) 600 meters away.

Location was good - stayed there twice on our trip. Some staff good, some with limited English. One of the beds was so concave that we had to stuff blankets under the mattress. One of the bathroom drains was clogged so bathroom flooded. One bathroom had no light - had to ask for light.

It looks like the hotel was last decorated (beds, carpet, bathrooms) in the 70's. It's worn and down-trodden. Too expensive for what it is. The bathroom was positively grungy (mold and peeling paint) and cramped. Was expecting the usual buffet breakfast (meats, cheeses, etc.) but instead got a voucher for a cafe and croissant across the street at a cafe.

Excellent value. We appreciated being in the centre of Siena within easy walking distance of all sites of interest. Breakfast was good and we enjoyed walking across to the bar opposite where Italians were breakfasting.

We had a problem when checking in. The room we were given was 1st floor behind the front desk, and in the bathroom the toilet was IN the shower stall. We complained and were moved the following day and our second room was a great improvement. The staff that met us on check-in was very ill-equipped. But the staff that came in later on our check in day were very courteous and helpful.

While the accommodations were acceptable; large room with very high ceilings and big bathroom, the level of noise was not. Street noise was very pronounced both nights we stayed in Sienna. The location of the hotel was good, except for trying to find it by the information provided on the web site. Once found, the location was good for seeing the sites of this ancient city. We were informed that parking was available at the hotel. This wasn't exactly the case. We were only allowed to park at the hotel to unload our luggage. Then we had to find a place outside of the city walls to park the car...which caused an inconvenience and concern because the car was not in a protected area. One point of interest others may find...there isn't a shower as we americans are used to. The entire bathroom is the shower. There is a shower head in the center of the bathroom, a floor drain underneath, and a curtain (which wasn't big enough). However, the experience was unique and acceptable. A little different than what we're used to but we got used to it. Overall, we liked the hotel and we'd recommend it to others. The location was good and even though the noise was a problem, we were too tired after each day of seeing the sites too really have it bother us to much.

The staff in Siena were really lovely, partic. one lady whose name I forget now. If she remembers me and my mother from the time we stayed, I would like her to email me with her name, just so we can express our thanks to her personally.

We chose this hotel as it advertised having plenty of car parking in front of the hotel. However there was no parking only unloading area, the carpark was 10 mins. walk away and involved a charge per day. The rooms were dirty. Rubbish that was under the chair when we arrived was still there after 3 days. The breakfast was poor even by continental standards and was served in a room which was far too small for the amount of guests and this was at a time when the hotel was not full. This hotel was not as was advertised.

Though the public rooms were lovely and the staff were warm and welcoming, the noise level from the street (buses, cars, and motorbikes) made sleeping difficult. The beds were quite soft with permanent depresions in the middle. My husband woke up with sciatic pain in his back. the bathroom facilities in our room were tiny and we wondered how people of more substantial proportions could ever use the toilet or bidet.

The room where breakfast is served looks nice but it's TOO small to hospitate the guests. The quality of breakfast and service is less than poor.

When we arrived, the front desk person was talking on the phone (it appeared to be a personal call as at one point it looked like she's was going to cry). When we walked in, she put up her hand in the stop signal. We were unsure if this meant don't come in or don't talk to me until I'm off the phone. She continued to talk on the phone for 5 minutes while we stood there. Then once she got off the phone, she could barely speak english, so she was unable to tell us different things about the hotel. Overall, it was an ok accomodation. Kind of a dumpy hotel, and not in a great location.
