This is just a place to spend a night if you dont want to spend much. No frills, even the surroundings are just ok. It is close to the train station and that is really good (we walked to the hotel). But felt like it was a safe area. Staff was very friendly and helpful - even though they did not speak English it was easy to communicate since they understood what I said.

No carpet in room, cold in April. Big room, but beds are spring beds, so not very comfortable.

Nice little hotel in a good spot, close to the train station and with easy access to the main sights. Be warned that there is no elevator, and quite a few stairs, so keep that in mind if you have a big suitcase!!

For price and location, this hotel was brilliant. I was a little dubious because it seemed very cheap, but i totally agree with other comments that the staff were very friendly and welcoming, the rooms were clean and practical (including air con) and the location was great. I would definately stay at this hotel again.

Room was nice & clean & we had private bath...some rooms didn't. There was no lift which I thought would create a problem...but the gentleman at the desk came down and brought our luggage up since we were on the third floor. Advertising said breakfast was 3 euros but was included free which was a treat not having to go out and find something. Also there was a nice restaurant only a block from hotel with reasonable prices. Room was very quiet & close to everything.

I didn´t get to know if there was breakfast included. Nobody ever told me. I shoul have asked, because I saw something as a cafeteria room.....

My wife and I stayed here in May 2008 and choose this hotel mainly for location; close to the train station and for the hire-car pick-up (Hertz). The area the hotel is in is not that nice, but for the 3 nights we were there, no problems. I guess for what you have to pay in Florence for accomodation, this hotel was reasonable. It was clean and tidy, but don't expect a lot. Access is via a locked door at street level, that the reception staff (single person) has to operate. When we arrived, we had to wait quite a few minutes before someone answered (probably indisposed!). Anyhow, if you're on a budget like we were, not too bad, although there are probably nicer places to stay in Florence.

Hotel is close to Santa Maria Novella station, though not very easy to find with the map available on venere.com. Sorroundings are not the prettiest, but there`s a nice restaurant right next door. One has to climb some steps to reach front desk and staff didn`t speak much English. Overall it was a fair hotel for the price paid, because European hotels are quite expensive.

This is probably the best (hidden) deal in Florence. Although not as close to the duomo as some other hotels, it is still quite close to everything.

On the poisitive side, the location was quite good, although the part of town certainly wasn't the most salubrious. I was actually pleasantly suprised by the room - for 35 euros a night, it was perfectly adequate for one person; spacious enough, with air con, and it seemed quite clean. No view, but I didn't expect one. I went for a shared bathroom, which had clear evidence of other users, but this was my choice to save money, so I can't really complain, and there was a hand basin in the actual room for cleaning teeth/shaving. On the downside, it wasn't very quiet (bring earplugs), there was no hot water on my last morning, so I endured a cold shower, and I was told, quite bluntly, that I had to be out of there by 10am (isn't check out time usually midday?). All in all, it's OK, as a no frills base to explore Florence, and it's probably as cheap as a single room in any youth hostel. If you're on your own, or maybe a young couple on a budget, and if you're not trying to impress someone of the opposite sex, you should do OK here. Just don't expect fantastic service or any extras. A great, cheap restaurant is Casalinga on the south side of the river.

A nice hotel with a good price. It has a good location, near train station and some of tourist objects. During our stay there, we had a problem with the heater inside our room. The heater could not warm the room.

The hotel is very difficult to locate. The shower is very small and the curtains does not hold the water in so when you take a shower, the water goes everywhere. By the way, we had a double room with private bath. The night staff does not understand English. The room that we had were pretty clean. Considering the price, the hotle is very good. If you were on a budget, then I would recommend this hotel as you get what you paid for and the rooms are very clean. And it is very close to the terminal-- 7-10 minutes walk, only if you get the right directions (otherwise it may take you half an hour) -- where you could hop on a train to Florence or Pisa (which is what we did)

4 times to Florence. Stayed in a double room en-suite. The hotel was very noisy and a strong smell of smoke in reception area and corridor. It wasn't really value for money. The location seemed a lottle rough. Central enough to the main sights

staff were friendly, room was clean and quiet apart for 3 hrs of horizontal folk dancing from room next door one night. shared shower still sends water out onto floor. close to train and buses, easy walking to main sights and restaurants.Good value for money

The rooms were large and it was VERY easy to get to from the train station. It was also easy walking distance to all major attractions. The only drawback is that the bathroom was very moldy and the paint was coming off the bathroom doors. I'm sure this is because when one showered it got the bathroom all wet. The staff was very easy to work with. We asked to check in a night early and had no problems. We even got an upgrade!
