Although Hotel Orlanda was not in the center of town, it was two short blocks away from Roma Termini. This made it very easy to get on the subway and see the sights of the city, or take a train to the airport when it was time to go home. The staff was friendly, and the hotel was very safe (with an intercom system at the front door, and a locked door leading to the hotel rooms from the front desk.) I would definitely stay there again.

once we got into the hotel it was a great experience. I had a medical issue to deal with and the staff was of great help. The single issue of criticism is the street level entry courtyard - not at all a welcoming place. It was dirty and very smelly.

We had a wonderful stay at Orlanda. The staff (especially Marco at the front desk) were very friendly and helpful. We were travelling with our 16 month old son and the hotel provided a portable crib at no additional cost. The surroundings are not the poshest in Rome, but there are plenty of good restaurants nearby and the location near the main train terminal was convenient for all our transit needs. I have only one small suggestion to make the room more comfortable. The shower in the bathroom is very small, which is fine, but it would be helpful to have a shelf or soapdish mounted on the wall in the shower for shampoo and soap as there is not really enough room to bend down and reach these things if they are on the shower floor. Thank you for a wonderful stay in Rome. We would certainly recommend Orlanda to others travelling to Rome.

Hotel Orlanda shares a building with several other very small hotels near the Termini Railway station (5 mins walk). Three or four small hotels are located in the same building with each one occupying a room. A little confusing, since Orlanda occupies floors 3 and 5, but not 4 when it comes to finding your room. There are trams (metro) running outside the building on two sides, and unless you have a room with a window to the inside patio, you will hear car and train noise until about midnight. The room we were given was brand-new, very clean, with an inside bathroom featuring shower and facilities. It was made up every morning, and kept very clean. The complex was secured like Fort Knox, with two security doors and video surveillance at the main entrance to the street and to the floor with the rooms. The lift in the building is tiny, with 2 persons max. fitting in. Not for the faint of heart. Breakfast is typically Italian, with coffee (from a vending machine), orange juice (from a vending machine), bread and marmalade. If you like your breakfasts big, then this is not for you. The breakfast room is tiny, and when fully occupied you better not be claustrophobic or clumsy when sitting down or standing up to pick up some more food from the trays. Resume: recommendable for Rome on small budgets, clean, save, friendly, and reasonably priced.

Unfortunately as first timers in Rome we found the surrounding area to be quite unpleasant and a little intimidating. But in fairness we did not experience any problems. At first sight of the hotel we were a little apprehensive because the hotel only occupied one floor of a very old building and we had never experienced such a thing. However I have to say it turned out to be one of the best hotels that we stayed in on our 5-week trip through Europe. The room was by far the nicest we had seen and the bathroom was great. The staff was also excellent and very helpful. Breakfast was reasonably good but there were not copious amounts of it. The earlier you went in the better. A laundrette with internet facilities under the hotel all helped to make our stay there a very pleasant one. Certainly great value for a handy, but not ideal, location .

The hotel was clean & pleasant although the breakfast offered could have been better. No milk or bread rolls on the second day!

Thsi was the first time to book via Venere.com. This hotel is perfect. Great rooms, clean toilets and bathrooms. The staff was very kind and helped us on our way throughout our stay in Rome. Breakfast was simple but enough. Very easy that the reception is open 24 ours a day. We have nothing to complain about, had a perfect stay. The price/quality is very good, cheep hotel with perfect facilities for a city trip. Our compliments

Upon arrival in Rome, without a city map, we drove to the train station and up and down the streets close in proximity. We finally called the hotel for directions which weren't much help. We got out and walked on foot. 2 1/2 hrs later we found the marquee, which was a 1' by 1' plaque flat against the wall that said "Orlanda" only. We had no A/C which I expected so we had to leave the window open all the time. The hotel beside us was about 20 feet away. Our second night, a young man in the hotel across spent 2 hours throwing up out his window. His room was on the same level as ours so it sounded like he was in my room. The next night, the same man decided to spin bottles caps out his window and try to get it in mine. I had to close the window and sweat all night long. There also were hundreds of little tiny bugs running around on the floor and sometimes on the nightstand. Our room was beside the breakfast set-up room, so at 7:00am every morning we were awoken by the girls preparing the food. It was a terrible 5 days and I would not stay there again, nor would I recommend it.

This was our first ever visit to Rome and it was made even more enjoyable by staying in the Hotel Orlanda. The Hotel is located in an accessable area of Rome with many of the places of interest within easy walking distance. The lift is a bit dodgy (not mechanic's, the size!!) the room was spacious and clean, and a nice size bathroom/shower. The breakfast supplied was a basic continental one that consisted of a roll/croissant, cornflakes and beverages such as tea, coffee, squash and juice. In our opinion the Hotel Orlanda is very good value for money and we would happily stay their again on our next visit to the beautiful city of Rome.

Hotel Orlanda is a great choice if you're on a budget. The rooms are clean and the location is ideal with bars, restaurants, some shopping, and the metro station in close proximity; however, this area is a bit noisy till the early hours. The staff (especially Marco and Amedeo!) is exceptionally friendly and helpful... offering plenty of suggestions for tourists.

Overall we found our stay at the hotel more than adequate. The only disappointment was the bathroom which, unfortunately, smelt! Otherwise good offer for the price, particularly the location.

A two star hotel but very clean and welcoming which made our stay in Rome all the more memorable. All of the staff were extrememly helpful and courteous at all times. The only minor discomfort was the bathroom which although very nicely presented was a bit small - not enough to deter us from returning though.

Very well located next to the main train and bus station. Lots of restaurants nearby too. Not far from shopping etc. Make sure you get a room with air conditioning if you visit in summer.

Exactly as described on venere.com. I wanted a relatively inexpensive hotel near the Termini, and I thought the overall standards were excellent. Clean, spacious and well-equipped room with helpful staff and open 24hrs. Surrounding area was as you would expect near a main train station, but with good restaurants, shops and internet/phone sites aplenty. Lively, rather than noisy. Overall, highly recommended!
