Just one of the prestigious families to be associated with Moyvalley Estate, the O’Mores and their descendants, the More O'Ferralls, remained in procession of the Estate until the 1960’s when ownership passed to the famed Bewley family, owners of the renowned cafes. Other famous names to be linked to Moyvalley Estate throughout its history include Patrick Sarsfield, who married into the More O'Ferrall Family and President Douglas Hyde, who, during his presidency, was a guest at many hunting parties on the Estate.

The Champions Club
Less than one hour from Dublin, Moyvalley is set over 500 acres. This exciting new championship course has been designed by Irish Ryder Cup star, Darren Clarke, and represents his first foray into golf course design. The project is bold in its approach with large lakes and bunkers strategically placed to catch the wayward golfer.

The par 72 course, at 7370 yards, is very challenging from the back tees, and is certainly destined to stage major championships in the near future. However, Darren’s design philosophy was to ensure that the average golfer will find the course both an eminently playable and enjoyable golfing experience from the forward tees.

Waterways Restaurant: Located on the ground floor the Waterways Restaurant offers guests sumptuous breakfasts and in the evening the restaurant is open for dinner offering food prepared fresh with ingredients sourced locally.

Sundial Bar: Moyvalley’s resident bar situated on the first floor is the local watering hole offering a selection of drinks including cocktails. A bar menu is also available for lighter meal options. Two balconies offer fabulous al fresco dining while overlooking the estate.
