Simple hotel without special problems, but not really fabulous for the holidays.

We had a great stay here. Very central location. Due to a sceduling error on my part we arrived a day early and they were able to accomodate us, very pleasantly I might add. Good suggestions about restaurants and places to see. We would definitely stay here again.

When we booked this hotel, we asked for a twin bed room. When we arrived, they gave us a double room. They gently solved the problem. Also, we ordered a room with a fridge and they again transferred us to another (much better) room the next day and we really appreciated that. The room we stayed in was good, but the previous one was too small and the bathroom looked not OK. Despite the minor problems, it was a good stay at Mirabello - clean enough and close to everything.

We had a bit of difficulty finding the hotel at night upon our arrival, but the next morning we realized that our location was very good. The "downtown" is only steps away, as is the port and main bus station. Our double-room was made up of 2 single beds, a TV, air conditioning and a washroom. It was clean, quiet and spacious enough for the two of us.

This hotel is cheap but still clean and quiet (however was there at the start of the season so might not be representative). Some rooms might not have ensuite bathrooom as we could notice shared bathrooms. The area is good and there are plenty of restaurants and other facilities only few minutes away. This hotel is targeted at budget traveller but offers a very nice stay if you plan to only stay a couple of nights in Heraklion. The staff were friendly and helpfull.

This is a great hotel in a great location. Stayed 2 nites. Rooms have all one needs - comfy beds, fridge, coffee and tea, easy access via stairs and lift, very very clean and fresh, and with a patio ready for late night wine or early morning coffee. It is located near many restaurants (El Greco Plaza) and a great bakery (try the feta and olive rolls!) around the corner. Owner is very friendly and helpful in directions, ferries and buses. Hotel is very close to the ferry terminal (10 min walk for ferries to Santorini) and to the bus station (10 min as well) which is great when you are coming and going. It is also just a 8 minute walk to the pier and castle for a lovely long walk down the waterside. No hesitation in recommending the hotel for the above reasons and a great price as well.

The bathroom in Mirabello was horrible. When we took a shower the water bubbled up and flooded the bathroom floor through the drain on the floor. It was disgusting. Perhaps if they took better care of their plumbing etc, the rest of the stay would have been better preceived. We all know that if you are not spending alot of a hotel room, you do not expect elaborate rooms. However, cleanliness is a must!

It was nice in the Mirabello, but a little bit noisy. it's very near to the city center, that's why it's ideal for a short stay there. we missed a fridge and some more space in the room, but the staff was always helpful.

Not as good as I believed. Cleaned but small, noisy and old. The quality/price ratio is poor.

Rooms are plain but spotless, comfortable & at least in my room a much better bathroom than a much more expensive hotel I won't name! Immediate surroundings are run down in places but in no way threatening. Hotel staff are wonderful. Be aware: credit cards not accepted

In booking this hotel, I expected European "budget" accomodations, but the Mirabello fell short of providing even basic functionality. NEGATIVES: The lock on the door to the room was missing all but one screw and felt like it would fall apart each time we locked or unlocked the door. We put our suitcases between the foot of the bed and the door to feel secure that it would remain closed. The placement of the suitcases wasn't a problem, though, as the room door would only open half-way before hitting the foot of the bed. Not easy to enter with anything larger than a carry-on bag. The sliding bathroom door did not close. There was a fruit-fly infestation in the shower, and we found several spiders in the bathroom as well. The toilet lid would not stay up, which was somewhat problematic for use of the facilities. Finally, there was a clump of hair on one of the towels. The hotel was also incredibly difficult to find, as Heraklion has a messy network of one-way streets with limited signage, but this was less the fault of the hotel than the city layout. POSITIVES: Hotel staff was friendly and provided us with bottled water upon arrival. Room air-conditioner worked well. Our double room was on the top (4th, I think) floor and had a limited ocean view (which we didn't expect). The elevator, though old, got us and our bags to the room. Online communication was friendly and prompt. ALSO NOTE: We had requested a non-smoking room online but were given a smoking room. The room did not smell of smoke and we weren't bothered by smoke coming from surrounding rooms, but be forewarned and make sure to verify if this is important to you. In sum, I'm just thankful that I was there for only one night. Though the price was relatively low, in this case I felt that we got less than we paid for. With a non-functional bathroom and busted door lock, this place was charming like the dark ages.

The service is fantastics, but I think the prices are too expensive, 'cause I've found a lot of places cheaper and better in greek islands and also in Crete. But the boss is a very kind man and he'll help you a lot

There isn't any relationship between the room's rate (by the way, very high for the class of hotel) and its facilities. The room was very poor, the bathroom was very small, poor and built inside the room. The aside hotel Kastro) for the same rate offered a beautiful room with all modern hotel facilities. The Mirabello's room hasn't TV, hairdryer, closet, frigo, etc. In the bathroom there isn't even a single hook for towels (not shampoo, etc). For woke me up the owner gave me an alarm clock!!!!

An older, family run hotel, it is clean and safe. Staff are friendly and helpful. Location is good for the port and city centre, yet in a quiet location. Not fancy, but good value for the money.

El lugar esta en buen lugar, es un lugar extremadamente sencillo, el tamaño de la habitación es muy pequeño, fuera de eso la estancia fue muy placentera.
