The staff was helpful when we needed help with the phones and let us use their front desk phone, etc.

A great location and lots of potential for this former hostel but the owners have done nothing to cheer up the dreary rooms. Not even tea making facilities. At a modest 50e for a single room this should have presented good valuebut frankly it was worth no more than 30e per night

Strictly speaking this isnt a hotel, even though laterooms advertise that you are booking a hotel on their website. This is budget student accomodation thats rented to tourists during the Summer. The Mercer Court Hotel proper is located around the corner. Its not that bad, I have stayed in worse places in Dublin, its not that great either. I dont think it is particularly good value for money, it is fairly cheap but only in comparison to other accomodation in Dublin and one of the biggest rip offs about Dublin is the cost of accomodation. I found my room was fairly clean, it was quiet, the TV and shower worked and the accomodation is centrally located so if you are struggling to find budget accomodation in Dublin, this is probably the next best thing.

To be absolutely clear, this is a university residence. The walls are cinder blocks, the furniture is cheap wood, and the complimentary breakfast is underwhelming. The location is great and everything of interest is within easy walking distance. For a few Euros more, you can afford a regular hotel with much better amenities.

I've recommended it to two friends who have already let me know they found it excellent; When I was there it was not possible to turn the tv on, I even asked for help but we didn't manage.... :)not to be confounded with the mercier hotel at the opposite side of the street... Is the mercier library open to everyone ?

Is great for somewhere cheap and last minute when there's nothing much else available and you don't want to spend much. It's excellent value for the price your paying. But if your looking a shower and a nice bed - look elsewhere!

The rooms are identical to student accommodation in halls of residence if anyone has that experience. No tea/coffee facilities. Finding the room is nigh impossible with very poor directions from reception and a host of numbers and letters on various doors one needs to pass through that were never mentioned. Not very sound proof at night either (need I say more?)

The hotel receptionist could not find our booking through Laterooms on their system. Eventually she found the booking but said it had all been cancelled! We stood our ground as only one room was cancelled directly with the hotel so we should still have had 5 single rooms. Numerous phone calls to head office resulted in offering us 2 twin rooms with an extra bed in one of them! Again we stood our ground and were eventually given what we'd originally booked. The rooms were extremely basic - no TV or kettle etc., but the bed was clean and we got fresh towels each day. Breakfast was orange juice, a choice of three cereals, toast and tea or coffee. However it was very handily situated for shopping, bars etc. so if I was pushed for somewhere to stay I would consider it.

On the plus side, this hotel is cheap and very well situated near Grafton Street and St. Stephen's Green. I would be more tempted to call it a hostel than a hotel as it is more like a student hall of residence. On the minus side, the seal on one of the double glazed windows was missing allowing all the traffic noise from the street in and they turn off the boiler every night at 10pm for an hour meaning that you can't have a shower for an hour or so in the late evening.

Good Basic accomodation, good value for the price. One thing which was not very evident from the booking was that many of the rooms are accessible only by stairs, while I am able bodied a person with low mobility may have arrived to find their room on the 4th floor with no lift. One other thing is that no smoking rooms are available , and this wasn't evident when booking . Otherwise good friendly staff , clean basic room and easy to locate . Location exceptional , right in the city centre with major shopping across the road and the best of dublins nightlife ( Theatre pubs clubs etc)

It is right opposite one of dublins main shopping malls. The rooms was very clean, quite basic , altho could have provided tea n coffee facility n the room as most hotels do!!To me this hotel did the job somewhere clean to get the head down and catch ur breath whilst n and among the shopping n partying dublin has to offer!!!
