Two noble florentine families BARONTINI SALIMBENI very famous in Siena and Florence for their political and commercial initiatives, bought and changed the convent in a stately house, the heraldic emblem on the front of the palace proves it. Completely renovated in 1990 but retaining all the best florentine features of the period, with some lovely old wood carved ceilings, and frescoes, give to the Hotel a typical atmosphere of old Florence. Yet it offers all the comfort of a modern hotel. Located right in the historical centre, 200 metres from the Railway Station, ExhibitionArea and ConventionHall. The buffet breakfast is served in the old refectory with frescoes of the ex convent.

Motorway: Exit North Florence; follow signs for viali circonvallazione-centro città; once you arrive at the Fortress (Fortezza da Basso) keep on the right and follow straight on turning to the right at the second traffic-light (via St Caterina d'Alessandria); then straight on and after about 300 mt. from Indipendenza Square you will find our hotel!Railway station: Exit on the left side of the railway station (turning your back towards the tracks)and take a left turn until you reach a MacDonald on the corner with Largo Alinari street. Proceed along Alinari street which continues in Via Nazionale. On the right hand side, after a few hundred meters is our hotel.

Built as a convent in the 17th century and later becoming a nobleman's residence, this central Florentine building is steeped in history and underwent careful alterations in order to become the Hotel Machiavelli Palace while retaining many original features including carved wooden ceilings and frescoed walls. The air-conditioned guestrooms preserve a sense of old Florence with antique- style furniture, period artworks and heavy fabrics and floor-length curtains. All are equipped with safes, direct-dial telephones, televisions and minibars.
