Nice small B&B in Florence. A bit out of the historical center. Neutral staff.

The location was excellent; far enough from the madness of the Duomo to be relaxing, yet only a 10 minute walk. Very,Very safe neighborhood near the Embassies & Consulates. Perfect continental Breakfast in the AM and quiet at night. The management was superior. They stayed till midnight for our delayed arrival and was able to offer great insight & advice. A great value. We'll be back...

We arrived very late, and the manager was really very kind as he waited for us. Rooms are very simple and would need to be a little refurbished. During the night it was also alittle bit cold. ..they definitely looked better in the pictures...

Roberto is great. He took care of us from the very minute we got there providing us with directions, recommendations and great breakfast (the best ones of our whole trip!!). I will recommend this B & B to everyone. As for me, I would go back over and over again! Roberto, Grazie Mile!!!

Quite a lovely place and the room fairly comfortable. Ours didn't have a window however but it was still a nice stay. I would say it's only a 10 minute walk to the train station and very close to the Duomo and Uffizi. The manager was very friendly and helpful, we would stay again.

Everything was very nice, very quite area. Just ten minutes walking from the center. Very big and comfortable bathroom. But , for Breakfast you only had sweet things, no ham or cheese, just toasts and jam.

Service was excellent--owner helped us get a package from a hotel we stayed at earlier. Breakfast was adequate/good. Only complaint was that the directions to the hotel on the website weren't up to date because a number of streets were blocked off due to security around the nearby US Embassy.

Very nice B&B, the best I've been so far; warm welcoming by the owners. Spacious and comfortable room, good breakfast. Quiet and safe neighbourhood just 10-15 minutes walk from train/bus station and town centre.

Recomendable 100% ---------------------- Everything very well. Breakfast, the environs, site to park because it's near to the USA embassy, the propietary marriage of the hotel... We had a small problem of lodging and the gentleman solved it quickliest that he sent us to another hotel of his propety more centric and better without cost some. The best thing of everything was the so charming and accessible marriage. Recommendable 100%

They didn't change the towels. I came back to find the towels still wet from the morning. I have to ask specifically for some clean towels. They didn't replace the toilet papers. Needless to say the popularity of the bidet that night.

Very comfortable, very clean room , good bed, large bathroom and great breakfast choice. Overall very good value for money in a quiet area of Florence, approx 1 mile from the centre. Reccomend it as a good place to stay.

We recently stayed at the Residenza Il Maggio on a trip from Rome to the Dolomites. We arrived at the train station in Florence and had a short 10 min flat walk to the hotel which was easy to find. We were welcomed by Roberto, the hotels manager, who had stayed on past his usual 12pm knock off time to make sure that we were accommodated. The location of this B&B is great. It is in a very quiet area of Florence near the embassies. Only pedestrian traffic is permitted in the area. The B&B is situated approx 40m from the River Arno and is around a 10 minute stroll to the main centre of Florence. This was great as it allowed us to see the city open up to us as we walked along the river. Roberto was only too eager to please when it came to recommending what Florence has to offer the visitor. When we stated that we wanted to eat where locals eat, his eyes lit up and he rattled off several great Trattorias and restaurants...which we tried and can confirm their greatness for both quality and price! The rooms are the perfect B&B room. Meaning ample room, clean, serviced and with all the necessary amenities, including a spacious bathroom. The rooms were warm (it was Winter) and the bed comfortable. Breakfast is served by both Roberto and his lovely wife Leah in the common room. It consisted of a freshly made coffee, juices, pastries, ceareals, fruit, yoghurt, toast and jams. It was delicious and fresh. We will highly reccommend this B&B to anyone wishing to stay in Florence as it was one of the highlights to stay at a wonderful residence and see the wonderful sights that Florence has to offer. We will return...the sooner the better!

This is a quiet, safe and clean place to stay inexpensively. The staff was kind and very very helpful with reservations and locations. It is small but has all the basics needed. I would recommend it for anyone on a budget who would like a clean place to sleep and bathe.

Mr. Roberto and his wife are lovely people. They are very helpful and good recommendation on restarants. The room is very clean and nice, the shower is good and the breakfast is good....the price is reasonable. If I visit Florence next time, we will choose to stay here again...

My wife and I chose Residenza il Maggio as we attended the opera at the Teatro Comunale and its location was perfect, right across the street. However, it is a 15 minute walk to the historic centre, but that was fine with us. The accomodation and hospitality were excellent and as we expected from the web site. Since the appartment is very near the US consulate it is quiet as the streets are completely closed to traffic in that area.
