Overview:
This historic hotel is located in the very centre of the ancient city of Pécs a short distance from Szechenyi Square on the promenade.
Occupying a medieval building at the city centre end of the main street, the hotel is one of Hungary’s oldest boasting a history stretching back to the 18th century. Soon this traditional and intimate inn plays host to an exhibition on the story of the local catering trade.
Despite the ancient atmosphere, the homely, comfortable and contemporary accommodation features a pleasant family atmosphere, traditional furnishings and modern conveniences. All the rooms have been carefully built around and among the thick medieval walls, maintaining the hotel’s historic heritage. The interior is stylish with sophisticated fixtures and artistic aspects, creating the ideal environment from which to explore this fascinating town and the surrounding area.
Location Description:
Inhabited from ancient times, Pécs is the most populated town of Transdanubia. It is a spiritual, economic and hospitable centre, famous for its narrow streets running up the Mecsek hillside, mild climate and wine and fruit culture. Most of our early Christian and Hungarian historical monuments and modern institutions can be found within the old city walls.

Standard Room - The 6 standard rooms are simply furnished and the windows open onto the inner yard. Smoking is permitted.
Deluxe Room - There are 10 deluxe rooms, furnished in an antique style. The windows open onto the promenade of Pécs. The rooms are situated on the first and second floor.
Apartment - There are two apartments consisting of a living room and a double bedroom with antique style furniture. In the living room there is a double sofa bed.

A buffet-style breakfast is included in our rates and is served from 07:00 until 10:00 in the hotel dining room.

Cancellation Policy:
Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 14 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled up to 3 days before date of arrival, 50 percent of all nights will be charged.
If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.
Children and Extra Bed Policy: All children are welcome.
All children under 4 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.
All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots.
All older children or adults are charged EUR 15.00 per night and person for extra beds.
Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1.
Deposit Policy: No deposit will be charged.
VAT and city/tourist taxes: VAT is included.

Internet: Wireless internet is available in the entire hotel and costs EUR 0.25 per hour.

By Car:
Arriving from the South:
- Take Rakoczi ut, then Hal ter and then Furdo utca.
- Turn left at Munkacsy M. utca.
- Turn right at Percel utca.
- Then turn left at Varoshaz koz, take Kiraly utca and then Aranyhajo Fogado where you will find our hotel.
Arriving from the North:
- Take Aradi vertanuk utja, then Kalvaria utca, then Hunyadi ut and then Szechenyi ter.
- The traffic on Szechenyi square is circular with metered parking spaces.
- There is further parking in the underground parking lot of Palatinus Hotel. The entrance is on the east side of the square and it is within walking distance of our hotel.
- The cost is 3000 HUF per day or 300 HUF per hour during the day. From the underground parking lot you can walk directly to the Golden Ship Hotel.
We have parking space for 3 vehicles in the hotel yard where cars are safe but not guarded for 2000 HUF per car. As the entrance is across the promenade, we ask our guests to use this parking space only for night parking and to inform us of their intention to do so at the reception. There is parking along Hal ter, Kossuth ter, Percel utca and the adjoining streets for a an additional cost between 8 to18 hours on weekdays, 8 to 13 hours on Saturdays.

You can obtain one on Szechenyi Square 50 metres from the hotel.
By Public Transport:
From the railway station:
Take bus number 30, 32 or 33.
Exit at the third stop at the upper corner of Szechenyi Square.
Walk down the square, passing the Turkish mosque and the statue of Hunyadi horseback on your right.
Take a left at Kiraly utca.
The hotel is the third building on the left-hand side.
