I stayed in Rome for 4 days and was very pleased with the hotel: friendly people, a good breakfast, clean, nice rooms with at least sufficient space! The two more or less tricky points are: the walls of the rooms are a bit thin, which means u get to hear your neighbours (or their TV) pretty clearly on occasions. And: the hotel is pretty far off from the city centre. U either take Metro line A to "Cornelia" and bus 49 from there (3 stops, u must count as there are no bus stops announced). Or u take the bus 49 right away from behind the vatican, where it starts). Any way u have to calculate 30 min to get from the centre to the hotel. If that doesn't bother I can really recommend Hotel Giotto! It was superb for a really good price!

Same old breakfast every morning. No coffee/tea facilities outwith breakfast. Lift not always working. Despite being told check-out time was noon, housemaid knocked our bedroom 3 times to get us out which was our intention anyway.

The rooms were clean and the service staff was friendly. Finding the hotel was tricky....with a suitcase lugging behind, I would suggest a taxi the first day from the airport or teminal station, then you can gather your bearings fairly easily after a good rest. The little cafe across the hotel has the best ice cream, and various other tasty fares for a good price, again, very friendly staff over there. The hotel had TINY elevators, but very nice staff.

The rooms are clean and compact although the walls are seemingly very thin, I am judging this by being able to hear people yawn next door! I was also misled regarding the proximity of the hotel to the city centre...its certainly not walking distance. It was a good opportunity to travel by bus and feel less of a tourist. I would suggest that maybe the reception desk hold some bus tickets. I thought the staff were professional and polite.

Rather far from sites, but accessible by bus. Unfortunately, bus strike the first day - but after that was okay. Difficult to figure out how to reach hotel from Termini - ended up taking taxi which cost about 20euro.

This is an adequate but basic hotel. The rooms are spartan but they are clean. One problem with the room was the size of the bathshower. It was ridiculously small. There was barely enough room to stand in it and I am not exactly well built. The only other thing to note is that this hotel is a good bit from the center of rome. It is a 10-15 minute walk to the nearest metro station and then 20 minutes on the metro to the centre (10 minutes to the Vatican) and the metro stops running at 9pm! A taxi from the center costs €15-20. The hotel staff told us that metro or taxi is the only way top travel from the hotel to the centre.

It was a bit daunting when we asked the direction at the information in Termini. We were told that the hotel was 'very far'. Also, when we arrived at Batistini station (end of Line A) nobody had heard of Via Cardinale Passioneri or the Hotel! We were told to take a bus for 2 stops and that it was off the main road. We decided to walk and ask some local shopkeepers as we went along. We finally found someone in a hardware shop that drew us a map. We realised that the hotel was actually only 7-10 mins walk from Batistini. The quickest and easiest directions are to turn right from the station. Walk along the main road Via Batisitini and take the 2nd right. Walk up the hill which bears left. When you come to the square (mini roundabout) take the 2nd left and Hotel Giotto is just along there. The directions for the hotel on the website are incorrect. The nearest station is not Cornelia. First impression of the hotel was very positive, It’s an attractive building and the inside is very clean. The rooms are smaller than I expected but sufficient. Very good value for money. The staff are very friendly although not very informative about local amenities and public transport. We were told to take a bus to the metro as it was not walking distance! By the time you walk to the bus stop you could be half way to the station! It’s about 10 minutes on the metro to Vatican city and Spanish steps and 20 minutes to Termini. Nice neighbourhood. There is a very nice Deli close to the hotel and another great one, for hot food and snack as you come out of the station on your left. Local prices and fantastic food. I would recommend the hotel. Don’t be put off by the so called ‘distance’, it’s not far at all from the centre. It would be more than a good idea for the hotel to have a sign in the map in the metro station Batistini, as no body knew where the hotel was!

Very good hotel, with very renewed, large, clean and quite rooms. Also the bathroom is very good and clean, and not even so small like in other hotels. The only problem is the distance from the city centre but if you've the car there's no problem. In the end, a very good hotel: I'm very happy

this place is very nice, quiet, not expensive. At only 100 m. from bus stop, 5 minutes and you are on metro station Cornelia. breakfast is not the best.

Hotel was located off to the left of any map of Rome. The hotel has a nice, one-sheet map, though, that we used throughout our stay. The hotel is withing walking distance of the last two western-most stops of "A" subway line (Battistini and Cornelia)and a couple of blocks from a bus stop for bus 49, which you can pick up for the return trip at centrally-located Piazza Cavour. We chose this hotel because we had a car and the hotel offers free parking, so if you add in parking and the free breakfast the cost of staying here is quite resonable. There is a bar across the street that is run by a really nice, hard-working couple and it's open early and late. We would definitely stay here again.

the hotel is a really thre stars standart ,the location is a little too far from cornelia metro station ,but is easy to get one of the busses ;:49 ,45 ,446 or918 across the street ,and get down after 3 buss stops.the breakfast was more than good and well serviced .

I stayed in hotel Giotto from 6th till 12th August 2005. On arriving I met friendly English-speaking staff and had no problems checking in. The room was like on the photos on the site, but a bit smaller than I imagined. It wasn't a problem, however, as I used the room mostly at nights and mornings, being away most of the time. My room had a private bathroom with shower (not too small) and a hairdryer. Towels were changed every day. The breakfast room was light and spacios and the breakfast itself was good and consisted on juice, coffee, tea, cereals, fruit salad, croissants and different buns, chease, ham, etc. - a good light breakfast to start the day. The surroundings of the hotel were just great - a quiet area of Rome, mostly without tourists. There were a few restaurants nearby and a supermarket. It was also very easy to get to the hotel during any time of the day - till 9 pm by metro (Battistini, Line A) and about 8 minutes by walk (or 1 stop by bus and a minute walk up the street), from 9 pm to about midnight - by bus (46 if I'm not mistaken), then from midnight till morning by night bus (I guss 50 or 45 or 55 - I have really bad memory for numbers. I took the bus near piazza di Popolo) so it was a big +. The politeness of the staff is a big advantage of the hotel, even when I came late at night (or better say early in the morning), I was still friendly met at the check-in desk. I was really pleased by the hotel and I guess I will stay there again on my next arriving to Rome. Big thanks to venere.com and hotel Giotto staff for good holidays!

My wife and I had a great time during our stay at this hotel. For the price, it is a great deal. If I ever go back to Rome, Italy I would stay at Giotto Hotel without hesitations. One aspect of this hotel is that its staff is very friendly and tourist-oriented. They were always willing to help us with directions on how to get around the entire city. Thanks to all the people that work in the reception office, our stay was pleasant and eventful.

The room I stayed in was very, very small and I paid 45 Euros. I had an initial problem finding the place which perhaps has tainted my experience. When I finally arrived the Television in the room didn't work but the porter immediately replaced it. I was only staying overnight as it was my last day in Italy. I can't really say anything about the other rooms because I didn't get a chance to see them. The choices available at breakfast were relatively speaking, Okay.
