Not recommended if you plan to get any sleep - all of the rooms have the main trunk railway line running past one one side and the Great Western Highway on the other. Goods trains an lorries thunder past all the nightlong.

This motel is situated between the railway and The Pacific Highway. The hotel is probably insulated, the noise was not too bad. The room is big enough. In the building is no restaurant but a good restaurant is opposite the Highway and you can go to Katoomba, 5 minutes by car away. Our opion the motel is value for money.

We arrived late, after driving through a horrendous rain storm and heavy fog, only to discover that a mistake had been made in the system that was supposed to automatically drop the room key. We had to turn around, go into town, and find a pay phone to call for assistance in getting the key. Back into the storm! I was furious! Also, the location is right on the main highway (the Great Western), with a stop light right at the motel. All night long huge trucks stopped, using compression braking (and backfiring). Guests should be advised to bring ear plugs and to turn on the heater/air conditioner to a neutral temperature -- just to drown out the noise. I would not recommend this place ...

It was indicated many times that the place would be spotless. The place was not spotless, the toilet was dirty, the carpet had pieces of dirt that I could see and the blanket provided was visibly dirty. Unfortunately, we booked the room when there was work going on across the road. This was not indicated when we booked the place (I called the place prior to booking online and there was no mention of it, might be my fault I didn't ask.). Upon arriving during a work day (Friday) we were greeted with a room that vibrated so much we could not enter the bathroom as it hurt our ears and the microwave had to be removed from its position due the the fact that it would not stop shaking and making an excessive amount of noise. We came for a relaxing and quiet weekend, luckily the work stopped on the weekend. Overall, I have stayed in motels with the same star rating and have been much more satisfied with the quality.
