This hotel more than lived up to expectations. It was a truly memorable stay in a historic building in keeping with the history of the town. The staff were both incredibly efficient and extremely helpful and friendly.

our room was charming. located on the top floor it was perfectly set out and very cosy. the staff were very attentive and helpful. they managed to find us the last table in a michelin star restaurant on a saturday night! we would certainly go back here again. it is perfectly placed in the centre of verona.

Overall stay in the hotel was a very pleasant experience. We enjoyed the stay very much and especially the very friendly service. The only critisism we have is the lack of bathrobes in the rooms. One would expect such an detail to be included in the services in a luxury hotel. We stayed two nights in Verona and concentrated mainly on the food and wine due to the rainy weather. Restaurant recommendations from the hotel reception were 10 points.

An overnight stay to attend a performance at the Arena. There was a good sprinkling of Americans, plus business people, plus those, like us wonting a different style of surroundings to the large 'could be in any city' type of hotel. We would certainly stay there again if we revisited Verona.

Really beautiful hotel in fantastic location, perfect for a special occassion treat. Difficult to find by car and we found the directions provided by hotel a bit misleading. Staff and service were great throughout stay and although a bit pricey I would definately save the pennies for a return visit.

The purpose of booking this hotel was a trip to the Verona Opera Festival. We dislike large modern hotels especially in such a historic city. The hotel was lovely and its a pity that we had such a short time to enjoy its facilities. We did feel however that it was very expensive compared to other hotels of the same category but maybe this is due to its uniqueness and its close proximity to the Arena.

The Gabbia d'Oro is a beautifully-decorated hotel with a high level of customer service and a wonderful staff. Highly recommended!

If you are looking for the very worst plumbing in Italy then this is for you. Water surging hot and cold throughout the shower and sink 24/7. Coupled with a superannoying buzz in the audio on all English speaking channels and a nearly inaudible sound level of the program just made it a perfectly awful experience.

VERY difficult to find this hotel when driving a car. Reception staff/concierge services were absolutely outstanding -- very helpful with advice for shopping and restaurants. Decor was a bit over-done for our taste, but very cozy and pleasant surroundings.

The hotel is quite difficult to find when driving, but that's a general problem in Verona. When we arrived two of the staff outside immediately moved a car so that we could unload our luggage and that kind of courtesy was repeated throughout our very short stay. Restaurant recommendations and reservations were 'spot on'. Our 4 am wake up call worked as advertised and coffee was offered as well. Our car was waiting for us and the bill was ready. Because of the ambience and the courtesy this was probably the nicest hotel we stayed in on our trip which included Rome, Florence and Siena. It fits in perfectly with the beautiful historic town. Thanks to everyone at a beautiful hotel.

A very nice hotel, definately worth a second visit. The only thing i will say is the choice at breakfast seemed to be more geared towards the German market.
