The Frydendal Kro & Hotel presents a wonderful opportunity for nature lovers to explore the exciting surrounds . The Norreskov forest offers fantastic bird watching, hunting and horse riding; while fishing, angling and boating can be enjoyed along the coast. Remember to visit the huge prehistoric tombstone just 50 metres from the hotel.
The renovated lobby has a small library, a fireplace, and has retained much of its character and charm yet incorporating many modern amenities.
There is a children's playground on site and bicycles can be rented at the reception. Golfers will not be disappointed as the Alssund Golf Club is also close by.
The in house restaurant at The Frydendal Kro & Hotel serves both Danish and Mediterranean inspired cuisine food whilst still trying to remain a typical Danish Inn. The oldest owner dates back to 1762.

The Frydendal Kro & Hotel is located in the village of Helved near Augustenborg, Denmark.
Helved which translates to holly forest lies on the border of the Norreskov Forest, a beech woodland with ancient burial grounds hugging the northern shores of the island of Als.
The Norreskov forest is 9 km long.
Two kilometres away the port at Fynshav offers moorings for boats to Bjoden and Sonderborg Airport.

The in house restaurant serves healthy options inspired by the Mediterranean and influenced by its Danish traditions.
The once liquor factory was appointed by the King in 1762 as an Inn and was one of the most important Inns and a gathering places for the entire area. A unique restaurant complete with fireplaces, antique furniture, and porcelain.
Following a 5 year closure, Frydendal Kro & Hotel's restaurant reopened in 2007 with a new exciting concept. Quite simply, gourmet delicacies at reasonable prices.

Follow Lufthavnsvej, turn left onto Nørremark about 3.9 km, take the 3rd exit at the roundabout onto Route 8 about 2.3 km,
take the 2nd exit at the roundabout onto Augustenborg Landevej about 1.8 km, continue straight ahead onto Landevejen about 3 km.
Take the 1st exit at the roundabout onto Skakkenborg (make sure you do not drive into the town of Augustenborg), continue straight ahead onto Asserballe St., then onto Fynshav, turn left onto Katry, then onto Frederiksgård and Helved about 100 m. Turn slightly right onto Frydendal about 200 m and you have arrived at The Frydendal Kro & Hotel!

After about 13 kilometres, turn left onto Katry.
After about two kilometres, turn right onto Helved, and then slightly right onto Frydendal where the hotel is found after about 200 metres.
