This hotel is fantastic in many ways. It's very close (e.g. 5 minutes or less) to the Duomo, shopping district, San Lorenzo, and the train station. It is located off on a minor street in a former palace, and we had no street noise. Our room overlooked the church of San Lorenzo. The complimentary breakfast is good--offers plenty to eat, including very rich hot cocoa. The hotel has a computer with free internet access which is helpful for checking email, flight, and train times. Staff were quite helpful and polite. Rooms were very comfortable and bigger than the usual ones we've seen in Italy and France. The only minor complaint: The shower didn't drain very well, but that was not much of an inconvenience. We would stay there again.

We have a wonderful stay. Our second visit to Florence, last time was 20 years ago! The noise of running water pipe is abit disturbing at times. The free interest is a big bonus.

Excellent hotel - 5 minutes walk (if that) from the station and really close to everything in Florence. Down a quiet side street, and far enough away from the train station for it not to be noisy. Very well signposted to get to hotel aswell. Strange coming up the 2 flights of stairs to get to the hotel reception (as in a shared building with firms of solicitors downstairs, but very secure as you buzz to get into the building), excellent service, the rooms were very large - only complaint is that you dont tend to get very much hot water when having a shower (not great, when aching from walking all day!) - but very modern bathroom, safe, minibar, hairdryer etc. Would def. recommend - very good quality for the price. Breakfast was pretty good too - selection of meats, rolls, cereals, cheeses and juice/tea/hot chocolate/coffee etc. Staff very friendly and helpful.

The hotel was great and the staff was excellent tending to any needs we had. It is well situated to the center of town, an easy walk to most attractions. We arrived by train and it was only a short walk from the train station. We will recommend this hotel to our friends and most definitely would stay again.

Hotel Centrale provided us with an oasis of calm and welcome while we were in Florence. Our room was spotless and attractive. The breakfast area and lounge were spacious and welcoming. Continental breakfast offered good variety. The staff was friendly, helpful, and professinal.. Hotel Centrale provided real value for its rate. Train station, duoma, uffizi, all an easy walk from the hotel. We would defintitely return to it, and will recommend it to our friends and family.

Great central location - very close to the Duomo. We payed extra for the "double superior" but we didn't realize the room would be dark because all 3 tiny windows in the room were way above eye level. You can look out of two of these tiny windows because there's a small staircase leading up to them. If you want a room with a view, this isn't the right room for you. We had one other small issue with this room: the bedroom is lower than the bathroom and half of the bathroom is higher than the other half. Both my husband and I tripped numerous times. We loved the gorgeous modern bathroom and compared to other Italian hotels, the breakfast was very good (quantity + quality).

Terrific location and facilities. Our family of 5 had 2 spacious rooms. Clean and newly remodeled with a wonderful breakfast. This was one of the best places we stayed in our 2 weeks of travel. Free internet was nice too.

Spacious and spotless room with views overlooking San Marcos dome. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a bit skimpy - had to keep asking them to bring out more bread and meat. Great location - but you need to be in good shape to handle all the steps (lobby is on 3rd floor of building and rooms are one floor above that)
