Description:
Overlooking the beach and the Bay of Angels, this hotel with the Belle Epoque fa?ade has stood on the Promenade des Anglais since 1840. The Messena Art and History Museum is next door. The hotel offers access to a private section of beach as well as alfresco dining at a restaurant with sea views and a menu that mixes traditional Mediterranean items with Asian-influenced dishes. The 125 guestrooms, some with sea views and all with safes, minibars, and private bathrooms, are individually designed. Tied-back curtains frame tall windows equipped with roll-down sunscreens. This 19th-century hotel with the white Belle Epoque fa?ade was one of the first to be built along the famed Promenade des Anglais. One of its strongest attractions is the decor of the interior public spaces, many of which have been faithfully maintained to their original splendor. The hotel also offers a restaurant and terrace on the front of the property, both with outside areas for dining alongside the Promenade. This six-story hotel has 125 soundproofed guestrooms. All are individually designed and feature antique-style d?cor with armchairs and tied-back curtains framing tall windows. White-metal sunscreens can be rolled down on the outside of the windows. Built-in closets with mirrored sliding doors have small safes with combination locks. And tiled, private bathrooms include hair dryers, shower/tub combinations, and overhead spotlights.** City Tax: Please note City tax of 1.20 Euros per day per person is due at Check-In.**

If you ignore the rude staff, deceptive practices, and overpriced sub-standard rooms you might find some satisfaction in this hotel. Grossly misrepresented hotel. It is closer to a 2 star than a 4 star. The staff was HORRIBLE!! One staffer was extremely rude and lied to us about our room. We were moved twice ubtil we figured out that they tried to put us in a lower grade room than what we reserved an paid for.We reserved a ocean view deluxe room and were given a standard room facing a wall. It was 300 Euros a night! After complaining they gave us a room with a balcony with a barely visible ocean view and a classic room When asked they told us we were in the reserved room- without regard for the fact that the room classes were clearly marked on a list at the counter. The rooms were filthy and the building is in extreme dis-repair. If it were not for the Vieux Nice and the wonderful time with my family, this place would have completely destroyed our impression of Nice. I recommend the Negresco right next door. Seriously- unless they have reduced their prices next to nothing I would avoid this place.

The clientale would be middle - the service provided by all staff was excellent - we had two small children and the staff could not have been nicer to us in every way - the service for the meal was very good - and the food was very good indeed - for a Hotel restaurant it was in fact excellent.

Hotel position perfect. Nice hotel but rooms rather small for the price charged. Would consider staying again if the prices were more in keeping wiht the room size.

The hotel is in a great location. It's right on the seafront and just a short walk from the old town. The SNCF train station is about 20 minutes walk away. Lovely old hotel. My only crib is that the carpet in the lobby was a bit dingy and that was a bit of a turn off.

I walked into the hotel, tired and jetlagged, and was offered an upgrade. These people know how to pamper and take care of travellers. One of the best hotels due to the service I received.

The hotel has a very nice location along the Promenade des anglais, the concierge was helpful and the staff were friendly. But the services offered were not satisfactory. The breakfast was very low quality and expensive (20EUR/person), the room was very small, there was no private beach as mentioned in the website, we had to pay for the beach with a small discount. Overall we were not satisfied with the price/quality ratio.

This was a very nice hotel, perhaps a bit overpriced but it was during the high turist season (july). The location is excellent, right on the thriving and lively beach front blvd. The hotel is spacious and very well accomadated. The food is very expensive, but there are cheaper restaurants very close by. Not recommended for couples or families on a budget.

The service and hotel staff are well recommended. Highly efficient. However, the hotel and facilities are a bit tired and urgent renovation/cosmetic changes needed for the rooms. They can beat competition with fresh new rooms. The carpets need changing. The chef too needs inspiration! Overall - Nice is a happy place and good for young family but not for older teenagers that are not into sea side pursuits. The architecture is amazing.

The West End Hotel was a good experience once we were accomodated in the right suite, they had a great welcoming gift for our Anniverary celebration and also a free upgrade to a beautiful suite, we enjoyed our stay very much.

Excellent location, competent staff and the room was recently renovated and quite spacious. Construction work on a room down the hall undergoing renovation started around 7:30 AM but wasn't too distracting since I needed to be up and about anyway. Will definitely stay here again!

Sunday morning at 11.00 when a lot of clients want to check-out, there was just one receptionist working (who had to answer the phone as well) with the result that there was a long queue in front..... The shower and room size are very poor for a so called Deluxe Room!

The hotel did not have the qualities I would expect from a 4 star hotel. The desk staff were not fluent in English, the concierge desk was not staffed and the the stairs were in dismal shape with peeling paint and extremely worn carpet. The hotel was just not very welcoming compared to the other places that we stayed.
