Our stay was such a pleasant one. The staff was very helpful setting up tours and giving directions. The free breakfast was amazing and the rooms were small but beautiful. We look forward to visiting this hotel again.

Fantastic location.Great rooms. Of course, Venice is hard to reach. Take the water taxi to San Marco Square, then a 10 minute walk to the Hotel. Pack lightly because of the walk.

Although relatively expensive, in relation to other hotels in Venice it was good value for money, as the location was excellent 0nly about 10 metres from St Marks square. Very appealing to have a gondola station at the front, but does generate a significant amount of people noise.

Venice 4 times/ First time in Albergo. Staff & general service level good and friendly. Difficulty is that the hotel is advertised as a **** star hotel. It is a ** or *** star hotel by any European/American standard. Maybe this is a prob with hotel classification in Italy/Venice? There is hardly space for a bed in the room as a result the decor is scarred and damaged. As long as you stand in the shower its ok.... forget about washing your feet!!!!! Ok I don't want to go on! Overall comment (excluding room) is positive

The location, room, emplopyees and breakfast were excellent, deserved the price I paid. I loved the pretty basket to bring washed clothes from the laundly. The room was comfortable. Sitting in a chair beside window and viewing canal sight, I felt it is not necessary to go out to sightsee... (actually, I did go, of course!)

A very good hotel. We were given the type of rooms and bed arrangements we requested. The rooms were clean and very well decorated in a traditional Venetian style. Well worth paying the extra to have the view over the canal basin. Endless hours of fun watching excited tourist board the gondolas. Good breakfast and friendly staff.

Great hotel - a little noisy from the gondaliers from 9.30am - not a problem - had 2 single rooms very small but OK - location superb with views of the gondalas in the morning and a short couple of meters from st marks square and access to the vaporetto. a sort walk through the fantqstic square to the Basilica of St Marks and the ducal palace.

The single room overlooking the canal I was offered as a complimentary (without even formulating my demand) was stunning CHARM. I travel since many year "blazé" one could say still I couldn't imagine a better Venice experience. All thanks to this tiny but very cute room on the 4th floor over the gondola station. The service together with the natural and human behaviour of the hotel people understanding naturally any of my wishes was also very nice experience. Prices are high but I will definitevly be back!

Reception staff curteous and helpful. Rooms very clean and spaceous jr. suite. Calling for a gondola: told to go around in line, not as stated that reception staff just calls out "pope". Breakfast great but 2 cafes americanos from the bar area 11 euros. I would stay again there.

You would be hard pressed to find a better location in Venice. High-speed Internet is available, but expensive. Breakfaste is included, though it's the usual European faire. You may want to ask to see a room before deciding on one - they vary in size quite a bit.

The Cavaletto was as described on the Venere website, which we have used many times before. The decor of our room was uninspiring and did not lend itself to a typical Venetian decor. Plus, the shower in our bathroom was rather small and the showerhead was difficult to use. Otherwise, our stay was wonderful for my wife, myself, and our other family members. As an owner of an Italian bed and breakfast, I will continue to visit the Cavaletto & Doge for any future trips to Venice. This was my third stay at the Cavaletto; my first time was in 1988.

Expensive, and worth every Euro. The hotel location is perfect--close to the Square and the major water taxis, and right where the gondolas park at night and solicit visitors for a ride. Scenic, quaint, and even quiet at night! Nice breakfast, too. Note, the single rooms looked quite small, but our double was very spacious.

The location was perfect, though difficult to find on first arrival in the Piazza San Marco. The hotel was even better than expected and the staff were pleasant and helpful. The breakfasts were great. We'd use the same booking agency and the same hotel again.

For the Hotel with the four stars categorisation everything should be much much better. Economizing in everything including service is very obvious and visible.

The staff was very helpful. The phone system actually worked! Would definitely stay here again.
