Getting around. The Hotel Berchielli is on Lungarno Acciaiuoli, 200 metres from the Ponte Vecchio. Florence is compact and easily explored on foot. There are traffic restrictions in the city centre and parking is expensive. Bright orange buses operate throughout the city centre. Tickets are available at vending machines or from tobacconists. Exterior: This Renaissance-period palace has recently been renovated, restoring it to all of its former glory.
Lobby: The lobby is large, with marble floors and a panelled wooden desk. At the entrance there is a green stairway and dark furniture. At the left side of the entrance there is a comfortable sitting area with brown sofas, carpets and plants.
Rooms: The rooms are medium in size, carpeted and furnished in a pleasant style. The colours of the bedspreads blend well with the curtains, and the walls’ light colours create a pleasant atmosphere.
