My stay there was fine. However, I had to ask for a room on a lower floor. They had me on the top floor and one look at the steps and i knew my asthma would give me trouble. They very kindly put me on the ground floor. I think the information should indicate how many floors there are. I expect that the name should have been a hint that the hotel was very vertical. I had no information about breakfast, but could hear dishes down the steps next to my room. (Very steep steps or maybe I should say very big steps.)

A very small but very friendly hotel. Room was big enough with good en-suite. Traditionally decorated, good feel to the place. Air conditioning in the room - great bonus. However, no lift so if you don't like stairs that get narrower and steeper beware. I was on the top (4th) floor. Small breakfast room in the basement so you may have to wait if everyone comes down at once! Would use again, especially if I can get on the lower floor!

The rooms are clean and nice, however our room was very noisy because it was facing the street, although the guide books say Siena is a carless city, its not! You can have the air con on, but its very loud, so we chose to have the windows open, however from very early in the morning cars and motorbikes drive past disturbing your sleep! Breakfast is v basic and the breaksfat room smells damp. The lady director of the property is very nice and helpful, however the other reciptionist is not so comptent, on the whole I think its quite expensive for what they offer.

This was an enchanting place in our favorite Italian city! We asked for room with a view and were amazed by our top floor overlook on Siena and it's surrounding countryside. Patricia was very warm and welcoming. The only negative was she was a smoker and though she stepped out front, her smoke and/or others' would waft up the stairs and through the window.

We thought the property was great. The location could not have been better. It was right around the corner from all points of interest. We had a courtyard view which was beautiful. The staff was very welcoming and courteous. If we ever go back to Siena, we will definitley stay here again!

A well located bed and breakfast. The rooms are OK but the breakfast room is minimal, humid and poor.

Very welcoming and helpful staff. The room was ok, clean and comfortable but not huge. The building isn't really a tower, as advertised. Just a tall narrow building similar to the ones around it. There was also no sign of the breakfast that was included in the price. There was a strong smell of smoke in the reception area but as we were staying on the top floor, it didn't bother us. Great restaurant tips. The hotel seems to be located in a more residential area and is about a 5/10 minute walk from the centre (campo). Overall, good but not as much of a novelty.

Unfortunately we did not have a good stay. When we arrived at the hotel the women at the desk was on the telephone arguing and didn't seem to want to notice that we were there. She was very rude when she finally did help us. She was also smoking right under the "No smoking" sign creating a smoke filled lobby. The room was fine. We declined the 5 Euro breakfast and went to a little place up the street. The women at the desk when we checked out was much nicer. Parking is a problem.

Good stay. However, for a no smoke hotel, the smoke coming up to our room from the front desk was not nice. The desk person was a heavy smoker. The Ac did not solve the problem. We are arch non-smokers. If the smoke did not exist, a very good place to stay. Good quiet location.

A little hotel of "charm" ideal for a romantic stay with partner. Excellent position very close to "Piazza del Campo" If you like to treat you well for a short stay in Siena, this may be the right choice.. :)

This was a charming hotel. Everyone (especially the woman who worked in the afternoon who checked us in) was very helpful. THe restaurant suggestion was excellent! Rooms were clean, with fresh towels & supplies. The carpet in one room was extensively stained but had been vacuumed. The only caution is that most rooms have air fresheners plugged in, and the aroma can be very strong. We prefered a room with no scent.

We had a lovely stay. I recommend asking for a top floor room - we were just above roofline which was nice, higher would have been even better - as long as you can take the stairs! La signora took excellent care of us and made sure we caught our train even when we fogotthe time-change.

The hotel was very quaint. We were visiting our daughter in Siena and the location was perfect. The staff were very hospitable. I would suggest not traveling with as much luggage as we had as we had to get 2 large suitcases up a flight of stairs.

The proprietor was helpful in complying with our request for a quiet room in the upper level of the hotel. The room overlooking the courtyard at rear of the hotel was very small and the bathroom (and shower) even smaller. Not really value for money we felt but nevertheless probably fairly standard for a city of this size. The breakfast room was also cramped and there was no espresso coffee available (the machine was broken we were told)

There was significant construction going on outside and in the shop next door that created unbelievable noise. It was extremely irritating. The management should have alerted us to this in advance. There was absolutely no ability to sleep in.

Our only problems were due to our inability to find the hotel made even more difficult since it is at the opposite end of the city from where the bus drops everyone off. Also, there was no one there who understood english to check us in. However, once the mamager was on site, she was welcoming and extremely helpful.

My husband and I stayed two nights in Siena at Antica Torre in September, 2004. We absolutely loved the accomodations! The room was so quaint, very clean, and exceeded our expectations. We were warmly greeted upon arrival and made to feel welcome. Antica Torre's location is ideal...an easy walk to El Campo in the heart of Sienna. We will definitly go back!

One concern that our party had was that there was no obvious fire escape details and the nature of the building made people feel vulnerable in the event of fire or other emergency. Otherwise the service in general was very good

The stay at Anticca Torre fullfilled our expectations. The welcome was warm and correct, rooms were cosy and clean. Two point to ameliorate: - the noice of the airco in the rooms - the "smell" in the breakfast room
