Buses are inexpensive and depart frequently for destinations throughout the island. Crete's bus company KTEL connects to the larger cities and more remote areas. From Heraklion airport get onto the main road in the direction of Agios Nikolaos, going away from the town of Heraklion. Continue on this road for approximately 60km.
