The 45 traditional guestrooms feature antique style dark wood furniture and richly patterned, country- house style fabrics. All rooms have satellite television, direct-dial phones, tea and coffee making facilities and bathrooms with bathrobes and hair dryers.
Guests can relax with a pint of Guinness in the wood- panelled bar while listening to live piano music, enjoy a game of pool, or take advantage of the peaceful study for quiet reading. The daily papers are available in the front lounge, which features large sofas and an open fireplace and guests can make use of free Internet access in the public areas. An open-air swimming pool, hard tennis court and nine-hole pitch-and- put golf course nestle in the extensive grounds and there is also a sauna and spa tub in the hotel. There is a safe for valuables at the front desk and onsite parking is free. Hiking, biking and horse riding trails abound in the surrounding area. The hotel is two miles from Clifden Castle and within 12 miles of Connemara National Park, the golf club and Kylemore Abbey. The nearest airport is Galway, 50 miles (80 kilometres) and a 60-minute drive away.
