We stayed 4 nights at this property and the owners were really friendly and very helpful. The rooms were spotlessly clean. Good basic friendly accommodation also near the termini rail station. Safe deposit box and fridge in room. What a wonderful city.

Excellent location near Termini. Great recommendations for restaurants. Unfortunately breakfast room a bit small as everyone seemed to want to eat at the same time! Difficult finding staff in hotel when we first arrived (Sunday pm) but helpful gentleman in courtyard rang owner.

My special thanks to charming Loredana and her daughters for having me in their B/B. Whenever I return to Rome I will book A Casa di Maryelen B/B, and will certainly recommend it to my family and friends. Ciao Loredana !!

CASH ONLY policy needs to be stated up front not in small print in cancellation policy. Very welcoming, clean and beautiful. Not so quiet but if you close windows its fine. Hostess was charming, beautiful courtyard. Highly recommended but take cash...no credit cards.

I read good feadbacks about this small B&B - its were better, then about some 3-5* hotels. And it is true. Small hotel with family atmosphere. Good breakfast. Very good location. All was very very good. Thanks, Loredana. We will be back again!!

Loredana & her daughters Mary & Elen were all delightful and very welcoming. We appreciated Loredana's help with our train ticket to Civitavecchia. When we arrived early for our room she welcomed us with our choice of her wonderful cappuccino or espresso and snacks while our room was prepared. We only stayed one night but would definitely go back. Her family's restaurant across the street was excellent. The morning of our departure, Loredana treated us like family with a warm, farewell hug. She made our stay one of the hightlights of Rome.

I stayed at Casa di Maryelen back in 2007 and returned in 2008. Loredana told me to come back, and that I did. She is such such a hospitable and lovely host. I knew if I came back to Rome, I would book the same place. It is so convenient to the train station and the major sights of Rome. The room is very quiet and quaint. Breakfast in the morning is wonderful, served by Loredana and her daughters. I am so glad to have stayed again, and brought my parents this time. And yes, I will stay again my next return to Rome.

Great communication before arriving and warm welcome. Clean spacious room and terrific shower. Breakfasts were good, varied and seemed to get better each day. Stayed a week so not a quick impression. Ignore any negative comments about the area, its great. It aint Park Lane but it is perfectly safe with wonderfull access to all the buses- which you will be using- metro and of course trains. With laundry across the street and any number of eating options, internet, ATMs,and a brilliant daily market not too far away its all you want.

We liked the stay in this B&B: the staff is very friendly, the rooms are clean and everything is as declared. Although the rooms were not very quiet in the morning during breakfast time (the inner doors are not very soundproof), the bathroom was really tiny and the payment was in cash only. Anyway, the price/quality is very good if you're looking for a place to stay close to the Termini stazione.

We stayed in at Maryelen's B&B for two nights in July 2008. The rooms were clean, but the bathroom was very small. The room had the bare minimum, the bed, night stand, desk and closet. It did not have the safe like advertised. The one thing we were skeptical of was when Lordana asked to keep our passports. We thought she would take just to make a copy and return them immediately that day. It took until the following evening to get in touch with her to get the passports back, which in the end we had them returned safe and sound. However it was a very daunting experience. A nice guest at the B&B told us that we never had to give up our passports, so now we know!

We were made very welcome by Loredana & her daughters- we had chosen this B&B because of its excellent on-line reviews & its location- we were not disappointed. Only negative for us was airconditioning (cooling) was not individually controllable. This B&B is an easy walk with luggage that has wheels from railway station (Roma Termini) & metro- approx 5mins walking time.Area near railway station appears seedy, but there are plenty of tourists & restaurants around the nearby streets, and we did not feel vulnerable at any time- security at B&B was excellent- four keys to get thru gates/doors to access our room at night!Altho the street is busy & noisy, the doubleglazed windows and shutters eliminated all noise and light.Nice continental breakfast included in cost.

Loredana and her daughters were excellent hosts. Even when we arrived in the middle of the night (past midnight), she was there to meet us at the door, ready to help us with our bags - better service than some of the 3star hotels we stayed in other parts of Italy.

I stayed here at A Casa di Maryelen for 3 nights in August 2008. Amazing B&B!! The family who run it are probably the nicest, friendliest and most welcoming people I have ever met. We were well looked after and our every request met. Rooms were spacious and clean. Great location, right next to the train station and easy to find. If you are visiting Rome then STAY HERE!!!

Loredana and her daughter Elen were great (we didn't meet Mary). They ran the B&B very professionally.

This hotel is a gem. I hesitate to say this because I would like to stay here again and if word gets out there may not be room!
