My mother and I had a wonderful stay at 1&1 Liberty Rome. We didn't realize how nice of a stay it was until we had a terrible experience at our next B&B in Florence. Matilena was very nice and tried her best to accommodate our needs. She also purposefully woke up to serve us breakfast at the early 7:30am hour we requested. She promptly responded to our request, such as borrowing a great blow dryer. She also gave us restaurant suggestions and courteously answered our questions. We didn't get to see her much during our stay, but she had a board on the hallway where you could leave her a note and she would respond by the next day. The room and the bathroom were both very clean and the facilities more than adequately served out needs. The B&B was a wonderful refuge from the oppressing heat in Rome when we there, especially with the top notch air conditioner in the room. Rome is not a well air-conditioned city despite the high 80s weather. Thanks Matilena for the great stay!

Staying at 1 and 1 Liberty Rome was truly a pleasure and we would recommend it to anyone looking for a wonderful B&B in a very nice neighborhood in close proximity to Vatican City, public transportation, banks, shopping and wonderful restaurants. The proprietor, Mathilde, could not have been more accommodating or responsive to our needs. She was friendly, interested in helping us to enjoy our stay in Rome, and very knowledgable concerning what the local neighborhood had to offer. She was present when we needed her. The breakfast was more than generous and Mathilde altered it to our preferences. The room itself, although not large, was cheery and spotless---just what we needed since we primarily used it for sleeping. The air conditioning functioned very well and the bed was very comfortable. The building itself was clean and gated and the lift to the third floor functioned perfectly. We had our own key so could come and go as we pleased. We really enjoyed our stay and hostess immensely and would recommend 1 and 1 Liberty to anyone looking for simple, quiet accommodations in a very convenient and pleasant neighborhood.

We really enjoyed our stay. We were 6 people and had 3 rooms. The owner is very sweet and very charming and made sure our stay was a great one. She provided great information on the area, restaurant recommendations and information on the metro. The rooms were nice and very clean. Breakfast was lovely. On the day of our departure, since we were leaving extremely early, she very thoughtfully provided us with take away breakfasts. The neighborhood is beautiful, and we enjoyed the cafes and restaurants in the vicinity as well as the shops and the convenience to the various sights in Rome. We recommend this B&B very highly.

Ideally located close to the Vatican and to the Metro system. Matilena is a wonderful hostess who made us most welcome. She had prepared a map with restaurants and other very useful locations marked on it. She was at all times most friendly, professional and helpful and she runs her B&B in the same manner. We particularly enjoyed our breakfast in our room each morning. We would certainly stay with Matilena again and would recommend her to our friends visiting Rome.

We did choose "1&1 Liberty Rome" as it had by far the best VENERE rating for the price category, and it was a good choice. Matilena speaks several languages and gives friendly and competent advice for your stay in Rome. We had a very nice and quit room. The excellent breakfast is served in your room.

Have been several times in Rome, but this was the best B&B we stayed. Was third floor with lift. Very warm welcome, get a map and lot of tips for sightseeing as well as for nice local restaurants and gelateria. Breakfeast was well for "Italian type" (with yoghurt, fruits, cookies, a croissant, marmelade, some cheese), only the table to eat in the room was very small ... . The green and red room are located to the back, so more quiet than the other ones. Green one has a balcony, but you cannot enter. There is a heater or water-machine outside, which can be a little noisy sometimes. Me feel disturbed by that, my mother really does not. Location is central to vatican, metro and bus/tram as well as shopping, quiet and well-situated. We surely will return.

This was more considerably more expensive than the Best (Vatican) B&B that we had stayed in the weekend before. It did have a jacuzzi and was nicely appointed, but the room was often cold, the breakfast contained only cold products (apart from the coffee)and often no one was there to answer questions (or turn up the heat, get more t.p., etc.) There was too little accommodation to store unpacked items. There was no public area; the kitchen/living room was apparently the private quarters of the staff member who conducted the B&B's business. The door was often closed and/or locked. When available, however, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable and spoke terrific English. This was our first visit to Rome (but the 2nd B&B).

I highly recommend this B&B to visitors to Rome. The relationship between price/ quality is excellent, the rooms are comfortable and tastefully restored. The area is lovely and leafy and very central. The owner, Matilena, is very welcoming and helpful if you need 'insider information' about Rome.
